Steven Gerrard made an interesting statement yesterday.

To paraphrase, he said that they wanted to kick sectarianism out and that is why they are just talking about football.

Odd that SKY itself has the exact opposite attitude, thinking that you can end racism in football crowds by banging on about it 24/7.

Gerrard has the right approach. The obsession in the media about sports related racism and the supposed rise in racist behaviour has gone hand in hand.

Coincidence? I think not.

Some people just love to defy authority and give themselves some sort of delusion of notoriety, and equally, when you have an obsession with finding something like the media does, you will always find it.

Of course, with sectarianism, it has been going on since Protestants and Catholics emigrated to Ireland and Scotland.
Another indication of what our wonderful politicians have set us up for in the near future with mass imigration.

Meanwhile Sky Sports continue their obsession with 'racism' this week.

They are running a feature on the press treatment of Raheem Stirling which they have recycled from weeks ago. And then a lot of minority sports related people telling us, you guessed it, that minorities should have more positions of authority in sport.

What else would they say?

This is the most self serving agenda imaginable from both minorities and SKY themselves.
They are promoting minorities for their own ends just the same as with women's sport.

Oh, and trying to sell our best players to foreign clubs for good measure.

The Sterling case at Chelsea was interesting in that the person charged with abusing him used as his defence the fact that he had called him a “manc XXXX” and not a “black XXXX”. Doesn’t seem that long ago that calling someone a XXXX was deemed as quite insulting enough regardless of the prefix.

Abuse of players by fans has been going on my whole life.
The only difference now is that 24 hour news needs to find some non story to fill it's air time.

Keep giving air time to idiot fans and the problem will get worse as it seems to be doing.

Today it was reported that a Huddersfield fan had been reported to the police for racism for calling one of his own players a 'Black donkey' in a tweet.

Seriously? This is a police matter?

I was watching a comedy on Netflix last night where a Black character called someone a White bitch and used the prefix 'White' on several other occasions.

Where is the consistency?

How is referring to someone by their skin colour actually racist anyway?
Impolite and unnecessary maybe but a criminal offence?

It's absolutely insane and only seems to apply to White people.

Anyone else fed up prejudice against White people?

This all gets a bit complicated. If you referred to a black cab driver in an insulting way the level of offence would depend on if you meant the driver of a black cab or a cab driver who is black.

Isn’t the difference that one was in a comedy, and the other in real life?

One can only speculate as to whether a tweet from a black person calling a player a "White donkey" would attract such a response from a club.

Not good referring to donkeys in such negative terms.Must contact my local donkey sanctuary !

So a comedy where someone was referred to as a 'Black bitch' would be OK then?

Think it through.

I would be more upset being referred to as a donkey than any negative reference to the hue of my skin !
