Muscat only ever played as a right back or left back for Palace. Marc Edworthy and Dean Gordon were both at the club when he was and he was a back up player when one of those was injured. If he played centre back it may have been the odd game but the only Aussie centre back we had was Craig Moore and then Tony Popovic Exactly! The fact ChrisCG probably never saw him play and had to Google him is why he’s come up with Centre Back as his position Chris, trying to insist that Muscat played predominantly at Centre Back for Palace is wrong and quite frankly laughable, as anyone who was watching Palace in the mid nineties will testify. Muscat played at fullback for us and as has been stated he covered for both Dean Gordon and Edworthy on either side. He also played at full back for Wolves once he left us and we got Jamie Smith from them.

He played centre back everywhere else and is listed on every credible source as a centre back. Please refrain from insulting me, especially when all I'm doing is stating the facts of the matter. Is that why he was given the Number 2 (Righ back) shirt at virtually Every team he played for?! Have you reviewed any of those YouTube clips yet? Where he’s playing at Right back? When stating ‘the facts of the matter’ you might want to put a little more effort into getting them RIGHT! I tend to rely on what I saw with my own eyes rather than relying on Wikipedia, as we know it can often be incorrect. Attachment: 8B1B077B-94DE-4157-8DE1-D0DFBFDD3DF2.png (816.14Kb)

I tend to rely on what I saw with my own eyes rather than relying on Wikipedia, as we know it can often be incorrect. I saw him play plenty. He was a centre back, which is the fact of the matter. He played make shift fullback, both sides, to cover injury to Dean Gordon before playing Right centre back of a back three. I have looked it up definitively in my programs from the time and will send you photos of them privately so that you can be assured. You do realise that shirt numbers bear absolutely no relevance to position? - as you seem to keep coming back to this. I have never doubted that you've seen him play, I did also. It's strange to keep bringing the fact up as if it's relevant when it isn't considering that you are incorrect in your belief that he was a RB, making your opinion that he was one of our greatest ever even more incredible then it already was considering he wasn't a good player, only played 60 times for us across one and a half seasons, and only featured in the position a handful of times due to reasons of covering injury. Every definitive source on the web has him listed as a centre back. You might just want to admit that you are wrong to save continued embarrassment.
