Benteke looks great today! Hopefully he will turn out to be the proverbial 'new signing' back from injury.

Ayew off for Batshuayi at HT please - he's just awful.

We put to crosses near benteke and got a pen and hit the bar.

Why oh why don’t we get the crosses in?? It’s bizarre.

We prefer small triangles out wide which break down.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Tinkerman will shuffle the pack for them. Roy probably won't for us. Ayew needs to be yanked and bring Bats on to lift the mood. Looks similar to Weds night. They look like they have a goal in them, let's hope we can get another, as we may well need it.

Need Max on.

Ayew has gotten us fair few freekicks and a few of their players booked so in that sense he has done well but everything else he has been lacking.

But Roy likes him and Schlupp.

Benteke looks like the old him again if he can score I think that will be a big thing for himself and us going forward.

I really hope we turn up second half too many games especially when leading at half time he are so poor second half.

If games finished at half time, we would be 6th.

Need to start holding on to a lead.

Very interesting.
And someone above said Hodgson was a good manager. More a good coach I would say. For instance, Ward would still be in team if he had not got injured and, obvioulsy, the poor substitutions.
Kouyate was not playing well but surely would have been closer to Ward-Prowse when he scored than Schlupp was

we look very ordinary. Tekkers doing very well, but our general passing is still poor. Looking for a big improvement 2nd. half.

As a number of posters have said we are going to struggle to create much with the midfield on show. Meyer has to come on for Schlupp and Bats for Ayew.

Ayew lacks that bit of quality, but he really works the defence and doesn't give them time to think, plus he has won us several free-kicks. McArthur has been sloppy and Luka's set-pieces have been weak. Bentenke has given us a focus though and he causes panic among defenders when there is a high ball into the area, and what an overhead kick! If we can get a partnership of Bentenke and Batshuayi going we could see something special I reckon - maybe the new Wright and Bright? (I can dream, right?!!)

Second half it's key that Schlupp supports PvA and that we don't sit too deep. Luka and McArthur also need to be better in possession. Also, when Ayew tires around the hour (as he generally does) Roy needs to take him off, as once he slows he is no use to the team.
