What is the point if hes only going to come on for the last 10 - 20 mins. Are we going to see him start afterall theres only something like 11 games left. COYP He got 30 minutes v West Ham and unfortunately Benteke is our own player this season and most likely next season. Batshuyai probably won’t be our player and, more to the point, right now neither could probably play 90 minutes of Prem football and it not have an effect on them that match and days/weeks after and their performance and the chances for the team. They’re human beings, not characters in a computer game. Fitness levels are not something we’re aware of as fans but there’s a good chance it’s an issue with our forwards and not causing us to end up with just 1 or none again. I thought this thread was going to be about what’s his role on the pitch and what’s expected of him. Do not bother playing anything up high or long and high for the CB to head and win to start with. Batshuyai’s aim whenever he gets the ball is to get to goal, with or without help, with the ball under control or the pass with an instruction attached to it. Yes, passes from teammates do have hints or messages attached to them. Those in tune and with the reading of his teammates know what they are. Benteke doesn’t have this intuition. This post has been merged from a topic called 'BATSHUYAI..........whats his role' by Midlands Eagle He give us a different option seriously. But hes costing a lot of money ? to be sat on the bench. just a thought. Can see him fitting in nicely with the likes of zaha and meyer and townsend . Also he seems to be genuinely happy at selhurst. This post has been merged from a topic called 'BATSHUYAI..........whats his role' by Midlands Eagle I do wonder if Roy will hold back on throwing Batshuayi in as a starter for as long as he can hoping it may spark our other options into life as we all know a bit of competition can sometimes help.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Batman' by bexleydave Is Michy the missing piece of the puzzle for Palace up front? Zaha and Townsend have been crucial for the past few years and we've mostly relied on them to get the goals, as all of our strikers seem to be afraid of the goal. But Michy's changed that with his quick play and striker's instincts which haven't been at Palace since Gayle and Murray. I'm really hoping Parish can convince Chelsea to sell him in the summer (preferably along with RLC).

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Batman' by bexleydave Sorry to be negative after a great result, but not for me. He wants the ball at his feet and is skillfull, but that’s not our style. For me, he was largely non existent today, but his goal was a quality strike. We need a man who will get on the end of crosses and can hold up the ball and bring the wide men into play. As annoying as it is, a Glen Murray type. Benteke has the right style of play but seems to have lost his enthusiasm/confidence, or perhaps both. I don’t know the answer, but I hope we don’t splash £25m+ on Michy.
