This.

I want to see him reach the potential that he's shown since a youngster. ''More tricks'' seems to be where he's sadly at.
A better/bigger club and bigger kicks up his fkn arse will hopefully bring out the player that we all know is there.

Good luck whatever he does.

i loved salako, he was the 1st name on the back of my shirt...utter quality.

however...he wasnt the main reason we stayed up for years, in fact he f***ed off to cov for £1.3m.

salako was quality, but no wilf...and it painsme to say that.

Interesting points from Casual.

Especially the comparison with Deeney. I wonder which of them gives the ball away more.

What we need is a player who can whip in a cross. Benteke is wasted with Wilf and Townsend.

Not saying I want us to flog Wilf mind.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Think wilf has been quiet a margin off his best form recently.

Imo and I know I’ll people will disagree with this but I think Townsend has been our better winger this year. He provides AWB with much more cover defensively, is always running and has a bit more quality on the end product. I think Townsend is not so good on the eye but more effective this season.

Zaha is a club legend. I think summer is the right time to cash in and I wish him all the best.

The main reason for us staying up was our balanced team. Best keeper we’ve had , 2 solid center backs , a proper midfield duo ( Thomas and Gray) 2 very good wingers and our best forward 2.

Opinions mate, I’m not bothered. Can you imagine Wright and Bright hanging about on the penalty spot waiting for wilf to take on the defender for the fourth time? Think they’d have grabbed him by the throat.

I like wilf , But his value to Palace fans is probably double his real value.

Are you a Palace fan or Wilf's mate?

Frankly, I don't care what he does if he leaves Palace.

I care about the team, not Wilf's career prospects. That's his business.

Is this some kind of football Stockholm syndrome?

I’d like him to fail if he leaves Palace and come back for a fraction of what we sold him for. All the ‘ is love to see him in the champions league ?’ Don’t get it. I’d only be interested in our new winger.

Selling someone after they’ve peaked is hard to take but later on is widely accepted. Doing it at the right time is the hard part. Ferguson managed to do it over and over apart from maybe Ronaldo who wanted to go and earned a huge transfer fee. We may have done it with Bolasie and thought we’d sold Murray with not enough to give, or not enough to deserve a starting place he wanted otherwise he wanted out. The difficulty our board are going to ponder is if Wilf has another underwhelming season next season his value will halve or more because this season he is very ordinary.

He’s a great outlet for us but this season that’s all he’s offered. When he doesn’t play we can’t win but that changed this season, and partly because we don’t spend on or have much other attacking quality because we’ve bought Benteke and Sakho and haven’t sold many.

I’m not saying I want Wilf sold (this summer, not during a season due to replacing and team gelling etc) but I won’t be as down about it as I would’ve been last season back and more.

.

Allowing up to 2 assists per goal (which more accurately reflects wingers contributions)

Deeney has played 9770 minutes has scored 33 goals - of which 12 have been penalties - and has 27 assists

Zaha has played 12439 minutes with 25 goals (no penalties) and 50 assists

Of course, Zaha should have several more years of peak production, Deeney not so much.

Zaha is clearly the better (and much more entertaining) player but no doubt several years of Deeney in the Palace team would have been of benefit compared with what we have had
