Apparently the club are auditioning for people to join the singing section.

They are running a program called 'Selhurts got talent' .

They are in the process of finalising the judges who currently consist of

Parrish
Mark Bright
Ron Nodes Wife

True story you know.

It's pretty obvious if you listen to his interview on FYP podcast, that all those seats will be given to the HF, one of the reasons they wanted to move was they wanted to expand so don't expect anyone but HF members to be sitting there.
Just wondering what will happen in a couple of years when they want to expand again to take the atmosphere to another level?

With well over 200 pages on the HF and this thread combined one thing strikes me as missing.

No comment from the HF, no one seeming to purport to be part of it. Their entire dealings seem under the radar and secretive, yet they have the ear of the club / SP because of singing and waving flags at home games (which I do think adds to atmosphere)

I say home games as I rarely see them away from home and I've only missed one away game in 3 seasons.

Many of the Block E people I know have been to many more away games as well as having their home ST's. The HF's importance, impact and fanaticism seems to be massively overstated.

There appears to me no reason why they couldn't continue in block B adding to their membership as seats in that section became available. They chose not to come as a group, nobody stopped them.

To then be allowed back next season, in their own bigger section, to the detriment of 400 of the most loyal and long serving supporters is scandalous.

Steve Parish you should hang your head in shame.

Read and listened to both sides of the arguments I have say that no seat in any part of our tired old but atomospheric cauldron of a Ground is sacrosanct , if the club wish to create specific sections , such as a singing section or Family enclosure as long as they give those affected good notice so be it . For me what we need is an official standing section not a choir section

Totally agree with last two posts Singing is about noise NOT view. So sing from any part of the ground why HF want Block E? easy better view. When partial standing at premier ground is introduced [as it will be at some stage] suppose the HF will want to move again.

Maple,

Just going back to this point for a moment, it seems to me that there will be a breach of contract situation if they try to force you to give up this seat before the prepaid term ends.

I would be interested to know if the club have considered this, as my own (uninformed) view is that both parties entered into a legally binding arrangement for the full 25 year term.

Anyone with knowledge of contract law out there?

The contract was probably with the Club / Business when owned by Noades or Goldberg.
That went bust then Jordan took over and then went bust.
My understanding is that each of the new businesses honoured long term season tickets but contractually were under no obligation to other than morally.

Who knows

I shall plough my own furrow on this and will let everyone know if I find out anything useful. I have one or two ideas on how to exercise leverage should I need to. But who knows if I do need to. The rules for the singing section and seat selection are unclear. What is clear is that this is the Club’s singing section not the HF. I shall therefore be spitting feathers if the HF gets preferential treatment to other singers.

So I'm not a season ticket holder in Block E, but I was for 10 years and my dad and his friends still are. I often use my dad's ticket when he doesn't go and so I still feel strongly against this so called 'Singing Section'.

For me the club have messed this up big time. Although what the HF have done may seem a little childish at first, I still think they are good for the club, and would have been in full support of them had they wanted to stay where they were in Block B.

The club have been bullied into making this singing section at the detriment to loyal ST holders in Block E. It doesn't matter if you've had a ST there for 2 years or 21 years, they are all loyal fans!

I propose an idea...

At the beginning of the Arsenal match, members of Block E that don't agree with how the club have managed this situation do not go straight to their seats at kick off. Instead they stay on the concourse (have a beer/hot dog or whatever) and then take to their seats 10 minutes or so into the game. This would be a silent but visible protest against the way the club are going about this 'so-called' managed-move!

It's just an idea.....

I don't think so. Listen to SP interview with the FYP podcast. It's clearly going to be the HF taking those seats....

Not a bad idea. Let's see if it's more than 100 HF who have got their own way. Then we'll see who Parish thinks are the better fans.

Or.......

get everyone going with a rousing chorus of that good, old, protestors favourite "We shall not be moved"

At least with a vocal protest it will come over on the TV transmission, and maybe a banner or two to go with it - just to prove that the HF aren't the only ones who can do displays....
