There’s been a lot of good, clever defending in this tournament vs top quality forwards by making it difficult and putting them off. Little touches and nudges. Ironically the less gifted Maguire does a lot of this but do the others? Not for me. Another lesson to learn.

So England fans are now being investigated over "possibly discriminatory" chants.

Football is very much a minority sport in all of those countries. If it were a popular sport it would be very different. Who's the most successful side in European international football? Answer: Germany.....which has the largest population in Europe. I'm not counting Russia because it's partly an Asia country and football isn't very popular there.

We won what we should have won, although Sweden WERE decent, and lost a 50/50. Southgate won a reputation as gent. My issue with the euphoria, and the desperate hope that 'something has changed' is that it guarantees Southgate the job. Personally, I like to feel a manager has flint in his heart. I mean, if Allardyce had us 1-0 up and in the ascendancy, I think he'd have had a far better idea how to stop Croatia playing. Southgate said they just overran us in midfield and there was nothing he could do. Yes they did, but yes there was. He could have swapped someone for a midfielder and gone 451. In the end, Walker and Stones also proved dodgy when really tested (and were rescued v sweden by pickford). Southgate isn't the messiah...
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

So football isn't the most popular sport in Croatia? You can't have it both ways You're saying because the population of Croatia is smaller we should win by default? What about the Netherlands? Their population is a quarter of England so every time we play them we should win because of population ratio? I don't think it quite works like that

Allardyce said before the tournament that he’d have been happy with a draw v Tunisia if he was manager , also that he would have gone 442 v Sweden , so therefore is a c*nt.

Must be me then with my one dimensional thinking, expecting some composure from a supposed top quality forward player at the highest level. Yes he scored for Man City, but with the amount of chances one gets there that does not tell much. Originally posted by Pussay Patrol
He does hold the ball well and releases it well, one of our problems is giving the ball away too much and I think hes a good foil for Kane People who criticise Sterling are usually those that have a very one dimensional view of football

Loving your insightful analysis !
