Winner. I couldn't f***ing stand him.

Thankfully with only one sub back then and a settled back four of Doris, Gilbert, cannon and Sansom, we didn’t see too much of him!!

How he ever made an England squad, never mind several and a World Cup, is beyond me.

Didn't Maradona say he was the toughest opponent he ever faced? Of course, there might have been something lost in translation

The only thing he found tough about him was wondering where the W went when you pronounced his name.

I always remember he was one of the England players Maradona made look silly in the 86 World Cup!!! It took them two weeks to unravel Fenwick after that game

Really sorry, i know I'm old but by worst the player i have ever seen seen play for Palace is David Price ( i think than is name and was brought from Arsenal ). Watched him take corner after corner and put it in the side netting against Fulham away.. No room for Calvin !!! Also very poor

Nigeeeeeeeeeeel, bloody legend!

Anyone remember Andy Preece?

Really wanted him to succeed but he just never seemed to fit in. Chris Armstrongs mate if I remember right.

I think some people on this thread are just listing our worst ever players. However, for me, a "donkey" of a player is one who has the particular "qualities" of being heavy, slow and immobile.

On that score add Ben Anderson who played briefly for us around 1974-75.

On those criteria, we did have Darcy Blake in 2012/13, who got too unfit even for the reserves. Ended up switching to rugby.

I haven't read this whole thread, so I don't know whether the name Dennis Uphill has been mentioned, but rightly or wrongly he will for ever be associated in my mind with the word "donkey". He scored 20 goals in 3 seasons in the early sixties, but memory tells me that he never moved far to get them.
