Looked very solid and made a great save.
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye! |

If you have watched any of Southampton’s matches lately you would have seen that he is a massive improvement on what we have currently got and we should never have got rid of him. Total todge. Henbesey has improved considerably and Guaita is clearly class. And just because he's playing better for Saints now doesn't mean he'd have improved the same way if he'd stayed here.

I think that there was an agreement to sign Guaita when Hennessey wasn't in the sparkiest of form but we had to wait until the end of the season for him to finally join the club.Perhaps there was an expectancy by both the club and Guaita that he would be the No 1 keeper. Hennessey's form improved no end and of course Guaita now has to watch the game from the bench. In Spain he was a regular with Getafe playing in La Liga and one suspects that he won't wish to sit around and be a No 2 at our club for a long period of time.If Hennessey keeps his place, I wouldn't be surprised if a club comes in for his services in the January 'Window' and possibly a club in Spain.

Agree with this... He was considered one of the best keepers in La Liga and was playing regularly.... Can't see him wanting to sit on our bench for to long. Don't get me wrong he needs to wait his turn but can see him throwing toys out the pram soon if he isn't starting.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

It may be an unpopular decision , but I’d play him, I know Hennessey has improved, but sometimes you need to make bold decisions.

Yeah I feel the same. Harsh on Wayne as he’s had a good start but ultimately I feel as though Guaita has a higher ceiling in terms of his potential performance and is the longer term option. Unfortunately tough decisions sometimes have be made. Look at Burnley, Heaton’s gone from undisputed 1st choice to 3rd choice within a year without putting a foot wrong. It’s tough but considering how much they get paid I wouldn’t have too many sleepless nights over it.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

its very rare that keepers get upset sitting on the bench there a strange breed, they wait for there chance, will only ask for a move if they can see that the current keeper is playing to well to dislodge, they hate seeing fellow keepers play bad,and they all work together to improve there skills,so cant see him upsticks yet, just remember its the worst position on the pitch 1 mistake and its your fault we lost not poor defending or finishing

Not through any lack of form.He was out with a bad injury,in fact his last game for Burnley last season was in Sep 17 after 4 games. Nick Pope came in and did really well and he got injured in a Europa League game before the PL started this season.Joe Hart was available so Burnley took the opportunity of signing an experienced PL keeper - he has done well for them so Heaton hasn't been able to displace him.
