Cavalieri hasn't played in 2018.

So if Hennessey gets injured we will be reliant on the inexperienced Henry or Cavalieri if he is signed in a tense relegation battle.

Went through the whole 'Window' without getting a keeper and as Hodgson said most team operate with 3 keepers and some have 4 they can call on.

Neither had Sørloth until last week but he didn't do badly at all. A keeper needs a few weeks to learn to work with our defence, really, but if we are stuck at least we will have someone experienced, faute de mieux.

The point I was making is that Hodgson mentioned about the need for additional strength in the goalkeeping department and I am sure we can all agree that at least a 3rd keeper was a priority.

We went through the whole of the 'Window' without securing a keeper, Speroni is injured and the only backup we have is the inexperienced Henry. We are in a relegation dogfight, it is a pivotal position, it has been known for a while that a keeper was required and the only possibly addition is a keeper who hasn't played for a couple of months !

Heaven forbid that Hennessey gets injured on Sunday, Henry replaces him and maks a mistake to hand Tottenham a winner - there will be a furore amongst our supporters.

And the point I was making was that in that situation we would be better off with an experienced player than an inexperienced one, recent PL game time being something neither of them has.

Actually, Willo, if we did have three "proper" keepers the likelihood is that the third choice player would still not have played a proper match for many months, no matter who it were; so I can't see that it will make much difference except as far as the next couple of games are concerned.

And if we drop points because of a keeper error there will be a meltdown irrespective of who committed it, as well you know.

Yes I agree that an inexperienced player is more preferable to an inexperienced one in our current situation. How we have reached this situation is of course open to question!

Regards 3rd choice keepers, they normally play for the development teams so they have match experience albeit not 1st team so they don't tend to be idle for a couple of months or so.Some of course are loaned out and get 1st team experience in this way.

I'm worried I might just be too dim to get this.
I'm sure monster thought long and hard about how to present it.
Help.
Meant or not?
