What a relief to read this...all we need to do is beat Scousers and Chelsea plus give a good hiding to exhausted and below-strength Man U and Spurs.

After a long rest we are certain to beat WBA and Huddersfield with new blood and returned injured players.

We will breeze up the table and all will be hunky dory...

I don't know what match you were watching mate but it couldn't have been the one against Everton yesterday. I watched the full match . We were out played all over the park.

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

No, lets all slag everything off, talk the team down and forget where we came from and that we still are ABOVE the drop zone.Of ourse everone can see the upcoming fixtures and most of us will be concerned but the negativity here is mind bogging. The sense of entitlement and people keeping repeating their point over and over and over and over again is plainly ridiculous.

100 percent agree

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

We're in trouble for sure, how big it is depends on further injuries.

With the run of games we've got next we'll most likely dip back into the bottom 3.

With players coming back and the run-in after that I'm sure we'll pull away again unless we're really really unlucky.

You never know with football (or Palace!) but I'm not that worried.

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely
Mile Jedinak

The problem for me isn’t whether or not we stay up. The problem for me is us simply not learning that playing the style of football we did yesterday will never lead to any form of progression results wise in the long term. We’re so utterly obsessed with generating hysteria over a short period of results, good and bad and we never take a step back to look at the bigger picture or general long-term plan for the club. The fact of the matter is, Parish & the Yanks are directionless. The only reason we’re still here is because they’ve thrown money at it and hired managers to keep us up and give us an artificial sense of unsustainable success.

When we’ve played with the ball this season and shown a bit of nerve we’ve given everyone we’ve faced a problem, yet we still insist that we have to play such garbage and are then surprised when we’re up against a desperate scrape for survival again. We are not gonna come away from these types of seasons unless we actually embrace some sort of change & accept that taking 2 steps forward will almost certainly mean we have to a step back first. Parish needs to have some bottle to do this, but he just doesn’t. He’s obsessed with looking good on paper.

Without taking this process to drastically improve in possession of the ball and having the ability in order to have some form of control over our own destiny in matches, we are going to go down. It’s just a case of when, not if and with Parish at the helm & the attitude of some of our supporters, I’ve simply lost confidence in this ever taking place in the current PL reign. That’s why I don’t share the same hysteria during good and bad short spells anymore, because I can see beyond the smoke screens that nothing is changing and the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result.

I know the media shove down our throats how amazing and difficult the English league is and how it’s so different to everywhere in the world of football but look at the game all across the world. Teams who have a mindset of soaking up pressure and playing kickrush are never relatively successful for a sustained period of time. They’ll have their moments of course, but the chickens will always come home to roost in the end when you play a style that effectively leaves your results to chance.

We've been in trouble all season. The last 8 games is and always was where we can get out of it IMO.
If we survive it could easily be the same next season. All the money has made the other 13 that make up the prem equal. Sometimes we'll have good seasons, always a surprise package and sometimes a bad one. All of us are on borrowed time in this league unless a Sugar Daddy comes along. It's the nature of the business and unless we bring in a young fearless manager none of our youngsters will get a chance.
I have no problem with Roy, but his treatment of the subs and fringe players is hardly what I'd call good man management. We may have to rely on some of these down the line and they will have virtually no minutes under their belts when called upon. Sako proved what a run of games can do for a player. Has Reidewald played one minute since he was lavishly praised by Roy, if not it's a strange way to motivate someone. He was one of the players vs Citeh that day, so he's clearly no mug. Rakip could have made his debut yesterday, give him some time to see what he's up against, at 3-0 what's to lose. Roy may say we weren't too bad and it was just 3 complete joke pieces of defending and I'd tend to agree, I didn't think they were especially good, but it still doesn't mean you don't freshen it up a bit.
A different defence every game through no fault of our own was always gonna hurt us eventually and yesterday it did.
We can get out of this, but we will need the squad, what's left of it. Just taking them along for the journey will not help them or us.

Well as some have pointed out , which the OP has failed to recognise , we were in big trouble after 4 games and were always going to be in big trouble all season due to the start we made. Roy said as much as soon as he took over.
It's a shame that after all the effort to give us a chance of survival some people just want to use every defeat to moan and groan and slag off the players , the chairman and question Roy.
Roy should really have not bothered and left us adrift and useless at the bottom , there would be less moaning then as certain posters obviously want to be right about us getting relegated. Don't know what they would do all day though, they should think about that.

We have an entire team injured , we are in poor form but still have taken 5 points from 5 games , if we take a point a game from rest of season it could be enough to survive , we are 14th and 5 points off 10th place which is all quite remarkable in the circumstances.

This should be enough for us to show a bit of spirit and get behind the team , but no let's roll over moan about it, some of the players being questioned by some for not trying show loads more courage and fighting spirit than some of our 'fans'.

There is a case for letting off steam , but this has got to epidemic proportions for some .

It is amazing how the tone went from Hodgson the saviour to Hodgson the clueless in the space of a few games. A man with 40 years experience and success across Europe who has turned around our fortunes despite a massively depleted squad, and all while conducting himself amiably. Even Southampton, Everton and Leicester have struggled this year and only Burnley of the smaller clubs have shown stability, but since Christmas even they've been poor.

A bit more luck in some of our games and we would be on over 30 points. We may have a freakishly successful season at some point, but unless we get a billionaire with an open wallet we are always going to be looking down. If we stay up and Roy stays on I truly believe we'll be much stronger next year, but with the money floating around there are not many clubs building squads on peanuts and they are capable of throwing money at problems.

We were in big trouble from the day FDB was appointed manager.

We were in big trouble at the end of the summer transfer window as we had only one striker

We are in big trouble largely due to a crippling injury list

Everton were nothing special yesterday but we were very ordinary. Had Beneteke scored at 0-2, I think we could have gone on to get a point.

In my opinion, Roy is doing a great job under difficult circumstances.

I think it could go all the way to the last game of the season to decide our fate. And as I posted on the January Transfer Window thread, we have to hope the established players are available and can pull together to get enough points to stay up.

Tough games coming up but then some very winnable games, keep the faith! And by then some of the injured will have recovered - I think we'll be ok

When all around are panicking and you are keeping your head .have you misread the situation .
But in the time honoured eagle way will take 6 off the top sides have wilf back a new striker up top who can hit a barn doorand ease to safety .no problem.
