Saying how good Parish has been because of our 5th year in the prem is great but the problem is coming out of every window under equipped, apart from Sam's January window, and there's no signs of it changing. What about the January window under Pulis that ultimately led us to finish 11th?

Only you has mentioned the top 6. Roy kept raising needing a keeper and we didn't get one. If Roy thinks he's going to go into next season half c0cked with a shambles of a window then anyone may walk. We all know it. I mentioned the top six because Roy has actually mentioned it in one of his interviews when talking about the fact that we cannot afford to buy our way into that position. Surely the ultimate target of any PL side is top 6 otherwise we might as well be happy where we are and happy with the way we go about it. So are you and Stan saying that you are not happy with the way things are going and we should be striving to change our management structure, ie get rid of Parish and if so, what sort of person do you think should be in place to stop Roy from walking in the summer? Its alright saying Parish should have done this and Parish should have done that, but what is the alternative and are you absolutely convinced that will be better for the club?

That's all well and good, but do you not think we've underperformed consistently ever since Dec 2015, with the bounce then flounce from Sam apart? Given the squad we have it seems clear that the mistakes that have been made by the ownership have continually held us back. Not sacking Pardew earlier very nearly took us down, also backing him to rebuild and 'evolve the playing side' or whatever bollocks catchprase they used was a massive waste of an opportunity, as it nearly dismantled what got us up here in the first place. Then the failure to keep on to Sam (and IMHO it's clear as day he thought we weren't a good long term proposition and was always coming back to the game), the disaster of the summer with De Boer, then failing to back him in the window, the massive, ridiculous gamble with having one striker on the books, the sun coming up, two keepers at the club over two conseqtive T/windows, no cover for the wingers... I appreciate under Parish we got promotion, and have stayed there, but it's been far more down to luck than judgement in recent years, and that cannot last. He keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over, yet seems to get more arrogant and flippant about the potentialities of them going tits up. I fully expect Roy to walk this summer, giving Parish his hat trick of capable managers that walk out on him after one season. How do you measure underperformance? What is the performance metric? And what is your benchmark? Other clubs of our size? How do you measure our size? One of my friend's husband supports Charlton - she is always reporting his annoyance at our good fortune and continued presence in the Premier league. Perspective is everything. No one can say Parish is tight - god we have the 5th highest net spend and yet the squad is still a mishmash and needs work. But I remember where we started and there was zero depth in many positions. As for all the ridiculous comments about Roy leaving. He has a two-year contract I'd be surprised if he doesn't see it out. Harping back to Pulis is, well, silly. Pulis is Pulis - his record is great but he has his own agenda. So did Big Sam. And remember he is a northerner - its a long way to travel for a struggling club. No surprise to see him take on Everton is it? As for the original post - I don't think Parish will explain the window. He'd be giving away too much sensitive info if he did. Nor should he. The basic premise of this thread is that Parish isn't doing his best for the club. Well he's not doing a bad job as this is our longest stay in the top division.

I e never said 'get rid of Parish' and you can't get rid of a 17% shareholder. What I'm talking about is transfers. Transfers transfers transfers. What sort of person to stop Roy walking? It should be what sort of response to Roy's serious concerns in press conferences that is the issue. Mentioning a 3rd keeper several times and only going for the eventual back when it's too late after no 1 choice isn't coming. So it's either top 6 or bottom 6 in your eyes then? Same as those who say 3 keepers and some back up strikers or financial administration.

Yes get all that and certainly not knocking him for any of that, But this all needs to be managed in conjunction with the most important aspect, the squad of players. Its a difficult job but its what he signed up to. We are in the big league now and should and could have done better. Steve also does not help himself with the comments he comes out with raising expectations etc and then knocking all all back down. I honestly think he needs more media training. Lets assume that we stay up finishing around 15th. What's in it for Roy, having saved his reputation, if he believes (as i suspect he does) that Parish is unreliable, deceptive and ultimately will let him down in the transfer market. He will have performed superbly in keeping us up, and will have one more year on his current deal. Why risk that rep that he's just saved, by another relegation struggle under a chairman who is failing to back him in the market? If he gets a bit more bad luck, he either has a relegation on his final year in the game, or maybe if things go really badly, gets sacked. If, as i suspect, he doesnt rate parish or trust him to competently do his job, then why gamble another year under him, rather get out on a high. You have written some bulls*** on here before, but you have really excelled your self this time
