Good post. Too many are desolate on here when we don't know the extent of the injury. If he's out, he's out and it is up to Roy to get the best of the other players to make up for the loss.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

It is what it is, we cannot change the situation so NOW more than ever we need to keep together and fight for the cause. Roy must be having a nightmare right now, I believe we can the team will pull together and get the results we need. L

Pardew and WBA to relegate us last game of the season saving themselves in the process. Wonder what odds?

I seem to remember something similar in 1990. Ah but then we drafted in ‘Thompo’ (Garry Thompson). No windows in those days. Didn’t we lose Wilf last season for the African Nations Cup? We survived.

I think we are strong enough even without Wilf to pick up the three wins we need to stay up.

Soure left back, pva lm, sorted As someone on the BBS correctly pointed out, it's a different skill set overlapping as a full back than playing with your back to a defender as a wide midfielder. Remember, PVA was useless as a wing back. Ball played backwards every time. I'd like us to explore players who play in these positions first. To start with I'd look at moving Townsend to the left. But this is Roy with a narrow set up and a tall centre forward who has scored lots with his head.

Get whoever are the two best crossers of the ball in right and left midfield, get Sorloth and Benteke up front together and play 4-4-2 and tell the two widemen that the only attacking they do is to pump balls into the box. It won't be pretty but it could be effective.

Good post. I think we can still put out a good first XI... it’s just we will have a shockingly bad bench. Sørloth is likely to get a few games it seems! Since Roy likes the 2 up front, why not make it a straight swap?
