If we get relegated and the difference is 2 points, then Saturday's penalty miss will be the talking point.

Unfortunately there will be other talking points including Lee Chung-Yong's suicidal back pass, Kelly's fannying about on the ball and Speroni kicking the ball out to Dann for starters

Maybe do a stop with John Lewis moz as he will be looking for work in January and would have same workrate and presence
Watched him at wba and his workrate was pathetic and wilf had to do all the closing down as Ben didn't seem bothered.he's no heart for the palace which for you lads and lasses who cheer us on every week must be so frustrating.Until Roy feels he can drop Ben's I am a superstar attitude then bench him for 20 min stints that may put some fire in his belly for the cause but from what I've seen the fires long gone hopefully a team out asia way would fancy a Chinese ben tekaway

And the Niasse dive, De Boer, Parish, lack of strikers etc. etc.

If we go down it will be because of the failure to deliver results on the pitch.

As it stands we need a striker in January, a difficult enough task in itself, as history has shown. Under your plan we'd need to sign three, which would be extremely difficult in the summer and impossible (especially for a relegation candidate) in January.

In our position, nothing is more important than points and only an idiot would think otherwise.

Agree.

Benteke is in a better position than all of the above to put things right. We need to play him Tuesday and get behind him , if he scores 15 goals between now and the end of season that help keep us up this will soon be put behind us.

He looked a lot better on Saturday against the relatively short Ake

Tomorrow he’ll be up against a shortie in our old mate Mariappa.

If he is lucky enough to be selected then he won’t get a better chance to redeem himself.

Stick him out there tomorrow and tell him he owes everyone a performance. We'll then find out just how much he gives a sh11. A lackluster effort and we need him out. That will of course be ultra difficult in January.

* Admittedly I'm not his biggest fan anyway.

I like to thin he can redeem himself.

We all make mistakes.

At his best, he was good enough to persuade experts in the game that he is worth £30 mill.

So he must have something.

We can bring that out.

Of he is given the chance to earn respect, I reckon we could seew a great player emerge.

He must have been hungry once. Woy needs to make him hungry again. I don't think he'll ever be short of money, but Woy need to make him desperate to earn respect and approval.

It depends what sort of personality he's got.

(Either that, or he could be insured heavily and then a terrible car accident could happen)

Let's not write him off yet, I think he has massive potential.

Once i saw the word in bold letters above I didn't read any further

Roy has no emotional attachment to any of our players, it doesn't seem, so if he deems Bentenke not suited to his plans then I'm sure he will replace him in January, or at least provide competition. Until then we don't have another option. Zaha and Townsend was only truly successful against Chelsea and the other games all too often there was no one in the middle.

As I said before, Bentenke had a big hand in two of our last four goals, so he hasn't done nothing and neither is he useless. We need to see a reaction from him tomorrow and that will show his strength of character. Andros showed that you can win fans round if you show commitment and a willingness to run yourself into the ground and hopefully Bentenke will too. Until he starts scoring again he does need to cut out the laidback Superfly routine though, as that will not do him any favours.

I was thinking the same...well said. Several posters on here appear to think it is amusing to highlight a speech defect. Why?

Looking at the bigger picture and from Benteke's point of view, he will have very little chance of playing in the world cup unless he improves between now and the end of the season, so he has more than his Palace career to think about. You would think that would be sufficient motivation wouldn't you? Let's see how much stomach he has for a fight.
