I think it might prove useful to dismiss this argument once and for all. I imagine it would show that there are more non-Muslim rapists than Muslim in the UK and hopefully in proportion to the population as a whole. There clearly is a problem with grooming gangs that needs to be addressed but people using these heinous acts and multiple high profile cases to promote division and suggest this is the moral norm for Muslims are Neanderthals. Likewise people who scream racism too easily and afford protection to criminals on the grounds of race sensitivity are doing society no favours. My uncle is a catholic priest, there was a problem with the Catholic Church, but he’s not a paedophile. His reputation is unfairly tainted by the behaviour of a minority. The attitude towards Muslims in this country can’t afford to be tainted by the behaviour of the minority but the offending minority must be identified and punished without shouts of racism. Pretty much nails it.

Religious groups can differ in not only how they view people but how they treat people. Anyone trying to sell you different to that is themselves either a liar or ignorant. This is directed religious teaching and not the fault of the individual at source but the religion......all religion teaches lots of crap about lots of stuff. However, it's not good for minorities within those communities for certain and bad for secularism in general. In terms of Islam.....a religion whose main forms are strictly conservative the percentage of anti homosexual views per hundred people is far higher....and I mean far higher than the national average. The attitude towards women's rights is also different to modern western values. I won't call them anti female because I don't believe that this is the intent....but the viewpoints and attitudes are different and restrictive compared to western values....thousands of incidents of 'honour crime' all the way to killings is far more prevalent within western Islamic communities than other religious ones.....18 cases of honour killings were committed in the UK between 2010 - 2014. Attitudes towards, adulteries, the legal system....and especially apostates are all different from the main population. Problems just not being addressed because it's easier to have conversations about racism.

You can hope all you like, the statistics show a different story. This has been covered many times on here, for example: Oh. Someone mentioned Sweden? How about these crime stats that were leaked recently? You can run it through google translate here: If you can't be bothered to read it: - 2004-2014: 45.1% of prisoners were non-Swedish Just for clarity: in the penultimate paragraph, gruppvåldtäktsfall means gang rape. It's not "gang-related crime". Though I don't even know if that's much better. I'm sure it's all "fake news" though - that's why the police are prosecuting them for the publication of these data. Perhaps this suggests why perpetrator ethnicity is now banned in Swedish police descriptions?

So just to clarify, you believe the stats suggest an “Asian” in this country is 28% more likely to be a child abuser?

A friend of mine stood on the jury for the Oxford case. He was traumatised by what he heard. Vile individuals. There have been multiple high profile cases and I’m not having a dig at you. My point is we live in a multi-cultural society, I recognise that some people feel it is too multi-cultural and I am not an advocate for mass uncontrolled immigration with inadequate integration. My opinion is that we should welcome immigrants from all cultures, do more to integrate them fully but not be naive regarding the cultural differences that we don’t accept as consistent with our values, such as certain religions’ attitudes to women that don’t fit with our own. Clearly we mustn’t and aren’t prepared to welcome such traditional customs as female genital mutilation and accept the ritual slaughter of random farm animals in fields. If I were to move to a different country I would accept that my beliefs and attitudes would have to morph to fit with that country. That does not seem to be accepted here. For example for the most part I’m proud of our animal welfare standards in this country hence I detest halal slaughter and I am so disappointed that we have been so accommodating with this practice from the year dot with no one questioning it. I would choose not to live in a country where this is the accepted norm but I also accept that i’m very fortunate that i’m free to make that choice and not fleeing for my life. Is there a reason to distrust Muslims or “Asians” more than other members of society? Or should the question be why do some people distrust them? If, and it is a huge if in my opinion, they are statistically more likely to be involved in criminal gangs and be child rapists as is suggested on this thread, we can’t shy away from that but need to deal with it with punishment, education and better integration. Encouraging the blanket opinion that most Muslims are predatory though is unforgivable and unhelpful. It leads to division, resentment and hatred between groups and ultimately bloodshed. There is room to give on both sides.

There is room to give on both sides. For those who don't know, Halal is a special way of killing animals (for religious reasons) without any stunning or bolt pistols. Instead, a sharp knife is used to cut the jugular vein which apparantly stops all feeling before the animal realises. Also, the slaughter is done in a more "humane" environment, apparantly no difference in cruelty than our methods.
