Lots of games still to be played up to Xmas. judging by our current form suspect we will be right back in the mixer after our horrific start. Also Roy seems keen to play the man so it ain't really going to happen. We will definitely be recruiting in this area in Jan, not shipping out.

Let's sell Benteke on the basis of: 1) Scoring a lot of the goals that kept us in the Prem last season ... he hit double figures which is no mean feat in a struggling side ...

Could you elaborate on the 8 sitters he has missed this season. What do you regard as a sitter? /quote] Really, you've watched every game and can't remember the fluffed kicks, the complete missing of the target, the headers over the bar, the soft shots straight at the keeper. Niasse last week got one decent opportunity and took it. When was the last time you saw Benteke do that? Ha last time he done that was against us.
oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton. |

Edited by Kermit8 (30 Nov 2017 7.42pm) Because top class strikers are so easy to find and attract to a club at the bottom of the league. He is one dimensional and tends to make the team get a bit lazy just pumping the ball up to him. He is also rusty.

Yes, unless he starts getting on the end of some of those deliveries into the box. He just doesn't seem to be anticipating anything inside the 18 yard box. When he does get a gilt edge chance he smashes it wide or over the bar...

In footy your only as good as your last game, such is the fickleness of fans and supporters alike and on that basis he should be sold as he is not exactly pulling up trees. However if you can show a better option for the same money I'm all ears, he will score and he has been missing some clear cut chances, but Wilf missed a free shot at Brightons goal, with only the keeper to beat he fanny'd it to the keeper, don't here anyone moaning about that miss, a chance by the way he only got because Tekkers had a decent enough shot under pressure. I'm sure he will come good, I would mind betting we get a decent wide player in the window, and have Wilf behind Tekkers like in the Wright and Bright Days.

This season he's played 2 games with Wilf in the side and RLC missed 2 games he played in. We had a manager for 4 games who didn't play to his strengths, then a new guy comes in and he gets injured. He's had far less time to get up to speed and after a barren spell his confidence is bound to be low.

I believe Townsend is turning into Puncheon; My Newcastle mate said when we bought him that all does is flatter to decieve, one good game out of very 10. Originally posted by chateauferret
And that right there is why Tekers hasn't been bothering his arse - if Wickham were fit, Hodgson wouldn't pick him ahead of Benteke because Benteke would be turning up. However by Saturday he ought to be properly fit again and we do have one option for dropping him, two up front with Wilf and Townsend. That does mean Townsend turning up though. The same arrangements with Puncheon instead of Townsend don't bear thinking about.
