He’s in a purple patch at the moment , that won’t last . But reckon he will be about til his late 30s. Not always starting , but like crouch (who’s scored 3 from the bench this season).
He will probably be worth a minimum of 8 points this year. Twice the player that gayle was , one injury and gayle will be finished, with less pace.
Shame. Wish he was still one of ours.

True, but he wanted to play. Maybe if we had fewer forwards he may have stayed. We had Wickham (just signed so intended no 1), Gayle, Campbell, Bumfluff. Have I got that right?

He is in a purple patch, I've seen all but of his recent 4 goals and 1 was a penalty and the defending v Swansea was a joke, as it was on the 18 yard line from the free kick v West Ham. He's in the right place at the right time but so would Benteke or Wickham for those 2 and we have penalty takers for the penalty.

I haven't seen a classic Murray goal yet. Nipping into a space and meeting the ball with a deft touch or outsmarting defenders. They've been vs complete dross defending.

That’s the point though , why was an unproven Wickham our intended number 1 ? After what Murray had done for us? Because he was younger , smothered in tattoos, got a glamour model bird and a Bentley and a bit more ‘premier league’ than the ageing , bald Murray? Not saying murray would be nailed on to start for us every game now, if all are fit. But he should have been given the chance 2 years ago.
Was disappointed at the time,if a player of Bentekes calibre (not this season) had been signed, then fair enough, but a player that Sunderland didn’t think was good enough to play as a 9, so shoved him out on the wing? Not for me.

THATS WHY HE LEFT.

You are missing my point. He was young enough then, he is not now. He was good enough to play regularly then, he is not now. Got it.... good

BUT,Murray has scored more goals than our entire team put together and his vital goals have taken BHA up to 8th place.

Getting rid of Murray was a big mistake but I can’t see the point in bringing the subject up every time he scores a goal. In hindsight we should have kept him but if Wickham and Benteke were fit he would be sitting on the bench every week not getting a look in.

Probably true.

I think another key factor was Gayle refusing to drop down to the championship when Bristol city made a bid. One really had to go but where was the analysis, scouting and 'DUE DILIGENCE' on Bumfluff? A 'boring' time for Pardew at training around that time?

We have had some good transfer dealings and we have had some bad ones. Selling GM wasn't one of the better decisions. He was supposed to be past his best, too slow etc. But he was quality then and he has still got it. What's the saying about the first yard of pace is in the mind.

Good luck to him, apart from when we play them at the end of the month..

Which is why he asked to leave and why he asked to leave Bournemouth when he couldn't get game time with them.

He chose not to fight for his place. He chose to leave....

Good luck to him, but I honestly it was his choice to leave.

So we should have kept Murray against his will for how long until this situation arose?

its a bit silly when you think about it....

I could never understand why Murray was moved on by Pardew.

It was a really, really stupid move and irrational.
