I suppose that until we have left the EC the Prime Ministership is a bit of a poisoned chalice.

The 'Mood music' is that Theresa May will be PM until at least Mar 2019 when we exit the EU.

IF we exit with a fair deal, then it could be seen that the PM has steered the country through 'Difficult waters' and as such she might be encouraged to continue to the General Election.

I accept that many don't see this as a possibility but of course politics can be highly unpredictable.

You will be glad to learn that I shall be engrossed in 'Conference' until it's completion, when I am not entertaining visting family from abroad, (Darned bad timing !) so will have precious little time to pontificate on HOL !!!!

For Tory stability it's likely that she will, whatever the divisions over Brexit. Even a 'no deal' outcome won't see her being toppled.

But once we leave the gloves will come off in a major way and I think she knows that.

Only the 'May' hardcore in the party want her fronting the next Tory election campaign.

Lets gets some rational discussion in before Gussett gets up.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

I tried to gather together the enthusiasm needed to watch the Damian Green speech.....but I was internally defeated by the more exciting prospect of washing up some plates.

Damien Green didn't seem to have enthusiasm for his own speech to be fair.

All I've heard from Tories on the radio is about how great the free market is.

Some politicans of all hues are not 'Box office' and are to oratory what Basil Fawlty is to hospitality.

The only half decent speech was Donaldson.

Well it is, it's pulled more people out of poverty than any other known economic device in human history.
