They want a better world and opportunities for all.....In a way I see their arguments the same way I view those who would ban abortion across the board (a decision I hold for myself but not others) and support nuclear unilateralism. These are not bad people....essentially it's dreamer idealism that takes no account of human nature. It's the 'All you need is love' and 'Imagine' stuff in Beatle songs.....It discounts reality....It's the playground without the bully. I try to look at life objectivity and not pander to popular and cuddly positions which....when viewed objectivity result in worldviews I can't support.....But I understand that these are worldviews and not inherently right or wrong by themselves. The road to hell is paved with good intentions......But what you might view as hell and what I might are probably two different things. I like the idea of open borders - from an ideological point it represents a perfect world. Pragamatically I don't think that's reasonable, and that any system in reality, has to be regulated to serve a social purpose. Of course there are arguments of the right that are equally futile (no immigration, no asylum) which are also based in a ideological nonsense. The problem of social engineering, is that it has to have goals, targets, criteria and a methodology that is directed to serve those. We need some immigration. What we've seen with the EU freedom of movement is it doesn't serve UK social purposes to have a system where migration isn't controlled. That doesn't tie into an ideaology of nationality, or ethnicity, or cultural preservation - its just practical that change to any system has to be regulated and control to prevent the system from too many unknown variables.

As well as the quote already cited, the letter also has: That's the same on the right, except they live in a world where they're w***ing themselves silly over outliers and statistically uncommon factors as if they're the single most important thing.

It's improved massively since the 90's. A lot more physical and faster and some of the goals are worldies. Good technique too. Skill wise as good as Conference level for the top teams like Man City Ladies but they would still be bullied to defeat at that level as it stands.
