With the Sakho situation, in my opinion Parish has played an absolute blinder. Think about it. Sakho is injured, has been for some time. Liverpool absolutely flat out refuse to consider offers below £30m. So instead of doing what 90% of posters on here wanted him to do and just paying the £30m, he waited. And waited. And waited. All the time losing f*** all as Sakho couldn't play for us during this time frame anyway. Then at the eleventh hour, he wins the cat and mouse game, get's him for probably £23m + £3m in addons, saves the club £4m and Sakho will still play for us no sooner than if we'd signing him on the day the window opened.

It was a risky game though that could easily have backfired if West Brom had sold Evans and gone in for him with a higher bid and then we would have been left with no centre half as well as no back up striker

The comments coming from Sakho would suggest he was always coming back to Palace, so I would have to agree with the original post in that Parish got a much better deal by being patient. It seems as though we got Sakho for around 23m upfront with 3m in add ons. Saying we have saved 4m is correct maths but I would think that in terms of FFP you could say we spent 7m less in upfront costs meaning if need be there will be more money to spend in Jan. I don't get the criticism of Parish when it comes to managers. Dougie, Holloway, Pulis and Big Sam all left Palace...none of them were sacked. Holloway got us promoted while Pulis, Pards and Big Sam all steered us clear of relegation. I would say we have had to be very reactive rather than proactive over the last few years while the club tries to adjust and compete in a very competitive league. Warnock was for me the only real mistake Parish has made when appointing managers in the prem.

It appears that Parish is regarded by most on here as useless at running the club and they want him to go. It's the running of football matters, not the club, he needs help, guidance and actually just someone else to do it.

My ONLY issue: Steve bought Sakho, not the manager. This NEVER works. I love Sakho, but he needs a manager that wants him, im not sure FDB will. I hope im wrong.

Frank would rather play 3 people who barely know each other, 2 of them very young, with 2 players outside them, 1 of which couldn't play that role in a million years, than play a safe back 4 with the best CB ever to wear our shirt. Up to him really. Play Russian roulette and leave is where he is. He can't argue his revolution has much chance of working after all.

SP I think is part of the problems we have. Appoints the wrong managers and then goes out and buys players he wants and not what the manager wants. I thank SP for all he and others for what they have done but now he needs to learn and get help as he makes far too many errors for my liking.

Well yes, but perhaps too much time and effort was put into waiting till Liverpool blinked. Then when they did we seemingly put the effort into securing a striker with the clock ticking. To all those revelling in having Sakho back think about the other end of the line up. One fit forward and 7 fit centre backs (pending the medical).
