Get the the ball wide and knock it into Benteke, that's when we looked dangerous, just need to do it an awful lot quicker.

A lot of the passing around was just meaningless and we ended up going backwards.

Still just a practice match though.

We are starting to look very good playing this 3-4-3 formation.
The first half of the second half we looked like we had 3 more men on the pitch. We were really working some sweet moves.
Then the subbing started which was always going to change things, but I bet FdB is very pleased with what he saw today.
We are starting to look like a very good outfit.

15 is Schlupp, according to the club's team sheet. He did come in a bit cold but improved as he got stuck in. I see the WH Hater's Club is back in force, their goal was made back upfield when Luka's header put "Marion" (he'll never live it down ) under pressure and the finish was first rate. Only Jesus saves that shot.

All in all, an enjoyable match but there are a lot of things, such as the amount of quickly taken free kicks, that we won't see during the season.

Keeper was well positioned and the shot was from the edge of the box. Ok it was a bullet but still due to the good positioning I'd have thought you'd be saving those?

Lol.

Keeper no chance with that strike - very well taken goal.

Thought we bossed that before the substitutions and looked composed all over the park.

Watched the match..... we enjoyed decent possession Benteke hit the bar twice in the first half Zaha gave us a deserved lead that we threw away with a typical defensive error......an all to familiar story

Sorry my screen was so small i didn't actually know who was in goal, but i would still say the keeper was very much in that area of the goal and i'd have thought, bullet or no bullet. If you're not needing to get across the goal then shouldn't you be saving it? Maybe i'm being unfair on the keeper, but i wasn't being unfair on WH as hand on heart i didn't know who was in goal!

Tomkins over-hit numerous balls when he came on and I'm not convinced that he'll work in a back three where we will look to keep possession. Hopefully it was rustiness and he'll prove me wrong. Both PvA and Schlupp have had better games. Kirby looked busy when he came on and hit some decent passes. I have a feeling he might be warming the bench this season to add some energy late in games. Ladapo didn't make it on which makes me wonder if FdB really sees him as a viable option.

Not a bad game and another 90mins of Wilf magic

I thought first 10 to 15 minutes Metz moved the ball well. Then we grew into the 1st half having some good chances. It seems Benteke was involved more today than wba game. 2nd was hard to judge as too many subs meant we lost our shape. All together a working progress. I think next week frank will want to keep the subs down to a minimum.
