What problem?

In terms of population size, the problem will begin if we don't put adequate limits on immigration. There is no argument that can justify a continuous influx of 300k people per year net.

What if we keep EU immigration but put strong restrictions on non-EU immigration as they are pretty much 50/50 of that 300,000?

Yet the official figures every decade since WW2 say the opposite. Our population numbers have been on an upward curve since then immigration or no immigration.

And the birth rate in 2015 was nearly 25% less than it was in the sixties.

You have your views which have not been formed by factual stuff but more a feeling it appears.

You are wrong plain and simple. Once the birth rate falls to a critical level, the population will fall in a number of years even if the population numbers are still increasing.

Could you show me that with an equation, please. I need to see the figures.

Are we talking numbers or social impact?

Numbers are numbers. People who are experts in population projection would have to determine how many people should be allowed to come here. To leave it to chance is nuts.

I'd like to read up on this. Do you have a link? The same place you got your info will suffice.

My god man. It's a well know fact the birth rate in Europe has fallen to a level which cannot sustain population. Only immigration is propping it up.

I'd still like a link. I don't trust your wisdom since your Corbyn prediction was so spectacularly wrong.

Also are you saying that we Europeans need immigration to help a dwindling birth rate and to sustain tax revenue to keep the oldies pensions?

I'm glad to see you coming to your senses if so.

Italy continues to suffer from a steadily declining birthrate, especially among native Italians, with live births falling by nearly 20,000 in 2015.
According to the latest data released Monday by Italy’s National Institute of Statistics (Istat), 485,780 live births were registered in 2015, representing a drop of some 17,000 children relative to 2014. This is just the latest confirmation of a downward trend, with the yearly birthrate declining by 91,000 since 2008.

The decline was far sharper in births to couples both of whom are Italian citizens. Children born to Italian couples sank to 385,014 in 2015 (a drop of over 95,000 over the last seven years). Istat attributed the trend to two factors: ever fewer Italian women at childbearing age and an increasing unwillingness to have children among those who could.

Italy’s birthrate has fallen further and further below the replacement rate of roughly 2.1 children per woman.

Germany is roughly the same and the Spanish birth rate even lower - 1.27 in 2014.

No. What we need is to increae the birth rate of existing people to redcuce the need for further immigration.

Too many people are too self centered and don't want to have children. That is a symptom of our selfish society. Our lack of foresight has created the need for quick fixes like mass immigration that have had and will have hugely negative consequences.

And find the information yourself.... This should give you a taster.

The decline in rates over there is because they are coming over here and having the kids.

You just need to go around different schools and you will see it is almost like spot the british kid.

population over the whole world is too large need limits on children.

I am all for the small child by the way, somehow large children don't work for me.
