Yep, its largely been atheism that's been driving that beast since the enlightenment. Although its worth noting that in the fields of nuclear science, chemical engineering, medicine, neurology, computer science and social science there are a lot of contributions in academia from Muslinm in or from Muslim countries.

They represent 1.6 billion of the world's population. So this point is.....underwhelming.

The contribution from the Jews on the other hand is massively significant....especially when their population numbers around 15 million.

Of course anti semitism has been on the rise in this country...Especially since the Islamic population increases and the hegemony of 'progressive' politics increases. As the Islamic percentage goes up the Jewish one goes down....not very surprising.

As a trade in 'useful' cultures it's a very poor trade.

Do I want to be C of E , where belief in God seems to be optional, and being gay is almost compulsory in some parishes, or do I want to be a Muslim where I could be under sentence of death if I wanted to leave and would be in danger of being thrown off a building if I was gay? Tough choice.

Notably of course the Jewish people you refer to would be primarily atheists like Freud, Chomsky and Einstein etc.

Which describes only a few of the Islamic sects. You don't see that in the Ishmali and Sufi sects. Of course there's no truth at all in people?me being beaten to death in the US for being gay by 'Christians'

Well, I'm referring to the Jewish population in the country that's been reducing. They are Jewish as a defining attribute. Why throw atheist in there?....That's only relevant if they don't refer to themselves as Jewish.

As a general rule we need more Jews not less Jews. They are good for secularism and embrace and integrate into the culture and ethos of the country they settle in.

The equivalences you are prepared to stand behind. An assault by Christians on people for being gay is against the law in America.

Which Islamic countries do the Ishmali and Sufi sects control?

How many openly gays in America compared to....I don't know...say Egypt? And there are far worse examples of Islamic countries I could choose.

The death penalty for being an apostate or gay applies to a number of Islamic countries - Christian churchmen should condemn it instead of banging on about 'faith leaders' coming together. If they truly believe in their Christian faith, they would preach that these other religions are false anyway.

So the answer to Islamic religious intolerance is... Christian religious intolerance? I'm sure that will solve things...

I'm merely trying to point out the hypocrisy of religious leaders pretending that all faiths have value when each of their individual faiths proclaim themselves as the only 'true' religion. Bit like the various factions on the hard-left.

This topic made me remember Lawrence Krauss words about Christopher Hitchens death:
"Christopher was a beacon of knowledge and light in a world that constantly threatens to extinguish both. He had the courage to accept the world for just what it is and not what he wanted it to be. That's the highest praise, I believe, one can give to any intellect. He understood that the universe doesn't care about our existence or welfare and he epitomized the realization that our lives have meaning only to the extent that we give them meaning."

Even today "truth" means lots of times "power"!.
Maybe trying rational thinking, methodical doubt, sensitivity, kindness and empathy without messianic truths perhaps the majority of barbarism it would tend to vanish...

Why? Do many cultures need their babies burnt, schools hit by artillery shells / napalm etc.?

As for integration

imagine Muslims suggesting this non integration.
