I'm just going to say "Brighton should struggle"

They seem to be right up there with Liverpool for being utterly jammy c**ts. No doubt they'll play like sh*t, survive and I'll have another year sat around a bunch of crowing bell ends that think they support the first team to ever get promoted to the Premier League. And more conversations along the lines of "I dunno who I'll be supporting when Brighton play Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs/Man City/[insert name of other club Brighton fans also support]".

I'm just hoping that Bloom does actually try and stay up on a shoestring, as he seems to be promising. What could possibly go wrong? There's umpteen pages of carping on NSC because the Sky requirements are going to cost them £5m, as they were convinced the Amex was PL-ready when it was built.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

Bless them. Their promotion this year could really lead to the best thing we'll see at Palace. I wonder if this will be a case of "careful what you're wishing" for them.

What's Derby County's record?

A mate of mine that supports Chelsea and Brighton (yeah) said to me last week that Brighton will tear up the Premier League. He said their squad is already better than ours because "at least half their squad is Premier League standard whereas we only have Benteke and Zaha". I said "at best you have two Premier League quality players". His response was "no way, we have 5 or 6 and Murray will score at least 20 goals in the Prem" so I pointed out that "half of a squad is 12/13 players not 5 or 6". He then said "what do you know anyway, you don't watch Brighton games?" So I informed him that I've watched 5 or 6 of their games online this year and the only one that didn't look like jumpers for goalposts was when they played Huddersfield, which they lost 3-0. I went on to list other players in our squad that are quality. To half of them he went "who? never heard of them, I don't watch Palace games". It was then checkmate when I said "ok, so you tell me I can't comment on the Brighton squad after watching 5 or 6 games, but you can analyse Palace after watching none of theirs?"

Oh I REALLY want them to fail. So so very much. If that makes me a saddo then so be it!

You're aware that there are about 100,000 of them and they all think along those deluded lines, right?

Yes, I work in an office with quite a few of them. I'm not even joking that I've heard them talking to each other about whether they'd be supporting Brighton or the other team they support when they play each other next season!

Mind you, I'll have a similar dilemma when Palace play whoever Brighton are scrapping with to stay up

Originally being from Worthing, I have plenty of friends on Facebook who flooded my newsfeed with videos of the Brighton promotion celebrations, despite wearing Chelsea/United/Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs tops in their profile pictures...

Unfortunately when you pull people like that up on it, it seems to go right over their heads.

Me too. NSC is packed with deluded views like your mate's with quite a few of them talking about a top ten finish and Europe. I think they're Champions League-ready now.

I suspect they've been taken in by the Leicester Theorem = complete outsiders can win the Premiership. Unfortunately this Theorem only holds true once in each millennia.

Sound spankings are the cure for that. Repeat as necessary.

Nearest they'll get to Europe is Newhaven Docks

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.
