If the media and others repeatedly go on about a group of people/groups of people in a negative way day after day, suggesting even that they are "scum" (as some here have at times) purely for being a member of the group and regardless of their personal qualities, you will end up with wanton violence against members of that group, since they become "dehumanised" and people think they have an entitlement to do such things. Its how things first started in Germany in the early 1930's with a few random beating ups... We now live in a land where this is on the increase and where Judges simply upholding centuries of traditional English law,can be described by a major newspaper as "enemies of the people". We are in a sad state of affairs, nothing to be proud of. Viz the following 2 other stories from recent days: "A woman has claimed a Tesco worker called her a ‘f*cking P**i’ while she was shopping. Nighat Shariff, 58, was at the Egham branch, Surrey, when she allegedly overheard him say: ‘These f*cking P**is are everywhere these days". ..................... "A Cotswold shopkeeper is 'lucky to be alive' after being attacked with crowbars and mowed down by a car after stepping in to defend a Polish boy from racist thugs. Amo Singh, 33, was brutally assaulted and left for dead outside his convenience shop in the trendy town of Stroud, Gloucestershire. He intervened after seeing six boys and two girls attack a 15-year-old Eastern European boy - and armed himself with a baseball bat when they turned on him."

Instead of finger-wagging at Brexiteers (who, I thought, were all old and senile, so unlikely to be smashing people in), prize prikcs Sadiq Khan et al. should tackle the root cause of this attack:

What absolute hogwash. One thing is clear to me. Had we not have had mass immigration that most never asked for or wanted, we would not have any of these types of problems.

Whilst these people make me sick, the National Socialist Party actively and openly encouraged such violence, and encouraged the use of violence as a means of political dominance. The views of the Nazi's were pretty clear from day one really, as anyone who read Mein Kampf will attest. The real difference between the far right now and then, is that they'd probably need someone to read the book to them, and explain the larger words. There was nothing random or opportunistic about the violence that marked the rise of Nazi Germany. Edited by jamiemartin721 (03 Apr 2017 3.07pm)

What do you conclude from the first article there? Anyway, I'm off to guard a concentration camp, or whatever it is I'm meant to be doing in Brexit-era "literally Nazi" Britain.

People involved in the extreme ends of the political spectrum, have a tendency towards violence, over political discourse, and some people are attracted to those groups because of the violence they offer, over anything else. Its always traditionally been more a problem with groups on the far right, in my experience (which is bias), like the EDL, NF and BNP, because of the focus of these groups specifically on what they don't like in society and their nationalism. I've known a few through AA, who's attraction really was the violence over the politics. That said, in the past its certainly the case that the far left in the UK hasn't been innocent of attracting thugs over political interest. Violent people are attracted to an opportunity for violence but to say that right wing groups are more violent than say the Anti Nazi League is simply not true. They are all cut from the same cloth. This thread is about blaming Brexit and more generally white people for attacks on foreigners. It is drivel, and it is political manipulation of the facts.

Well arguably we'd have had very serious economic ones, as migration in the 60s, 70s and 80s was linked to a need to fill vital employment vacancies, due to a massive shortage of labour. Also, if we hadn't have had mass emigration from the UK, a lot of the problems of several countries across the world might have been avoided.

Not in my experience. There were some in the Anti-Nazi league who were in it for a fight, but its hard to look at groups like the National Front, and not see how hate fuelled it is. You'd get a lot of people drawn in from the Trade Unions, student movements and even liberal movements in the Anti-Nazi league. I'm guessing, not being a member ever of the National Front et al, that that isn't the case. It appeals to a hardline group, that are very much motivated by politics that actively encourage intolerance, and hatred. I'm not going to say the Anti-Nazi league were angels, or that some of those who turned up were looking for a scrap. But there was also a very large section drawn from more political and social circles, who really weren't. You didn't tend to see that with the National Front.

So they tell us but it's odd that during the 80's unemployment was the biggest issue and during the 60's and 70's, under labour, three people were doing one person's job. On balance I'd say the British have improved the World more than they ever harmed it. Human beings in general are a bit of a problem though.
