I went to Brighton vs Birmingham with my wife a couple of seasons ago as she is a Brum fan. It took us an hour and a half to get back to Burgess Hill (which is mid sussex, about 10 miles from the ground). In contrast, we got back from Palace vs Charlton in the league cup one evening in not much more than 50 minutes. But obviously both journeys are quicker than Huddersfield, Leeds or Newcastle. I rest my case regarding travel to/from that darned 'Amex'. I know people in Burgess Hill, been there a few times both socially and to the 'Green Elephants' stadium !

Burgess Hill marks the border between Palace country and Brighton country. Once you get as far North as Haywards Heath it's 100% Palace. Burgess Hill is sadly 90% Brighton.

NOOOO!! I want them to choke on the last day of the season, go into the playoffs on a downer and lose 10-0 over 2 legs. Living in Worthing I bump into a lot of their 'fans'. So many times I say "I thought you supported Spurs / Everton / Arsenal" and they say "Yeah but the season tickets at the Amex are cheap and I might see Prem football next season." I've had abuse from wearing my Palace top from Worthing up to Three Bridges and then it's all Palace. Hate them with a passion.
You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name. |

I see Brighton's last four fixtures are:- Wigan, Norwich, Bristol City & A.Villa. Warnock (manager), Jerome, Wilbraham and Jedinak - ex Palace staff may have a say in Brighton not getting promoted directly. When a player moves does a fixture against the selling clubs' rival mean anything when they play against them with their new club?
The pyramid to beat all pyramids!! Find out what team is in which division, eg which division is Coppull United in? |

Not even a small part of me want's them promoted. I couldn't give a sh*t about playing them, save that for the occasional cup game. The money and joy that the premier league brings would be wasted on them. Having worked in Burgess Hill for 2 years I have developed a very healthy disdain for them as a club. Still hate Millwall far more though.

He could score a nifty own goal?

Couldn't really care one way or another. For all Palace fans aged 60+ it is and always has been Millwall who we regard as the rivals. It would be good to see how both Dwight G and Glenn M get on against Premier opposition.
