Could somebody explain a simple question. As we are sending millions in aid to these countries, why are we then also taking their people in as refugees? Because Aid is an incentive to get those countries to do business with us. Timukawakido wants a water treatment plant. The UK gives it 10m in aid for water treatment facilities in the country, and in return, Thames Water UK gets a contract, to build it, run it and maintain it for 15-20 years, which in turn generates around 1-2bn for Thames Water. No one gets anything for free in Capitalism, there is always strings attached.

Because they need food, water, medical supplies, transport and assistance to help them in places that have been destroyed or taken over. And then they need a safe place to live. You're welcome.

I must have misunderstood all this. But isn't this all about the Dub's agreement, whereby we take child refugees from Europe? Where they already have safety from the constant tyranny of oppressors/war. Nothing to do with taking in genuine refugees directly from war-torn/oppressive countries. I'm getting on a bit, so maybe I have it all wrong.
