He was two months short of his 40th, so not far off. At the moment Speroni is the answer because of how bad W.H' is. I don't see the big deal with age!!!? Players look after themselves, they benefit from sports science and can play on longer. In terms of agility and reaction has W.H ever demonstrated this? I'm fed up of watching his failed superman slow mo dives either that or the standard planted feet, hands in the air staring at the ball in the back of the net. For those who think Hennesey is the answer I despair for you. Just a question - Do you think that Hennessey's confidence has been 'Dented' because of the abject defending around him and is a much better keeper than he has been showing in recent times ? I understand some of the arguments raised against Hennessey but I am not convinced that either Mandanda or Speroni are the answer.

Yes the defence is poor, but i think they panic knowing what is behind them. for a tall goalie, he doesn't command his area or take control, woeful. like a rabbit in headlights, not a clue.
and it's goodnight from me....... |

Yes, I do and I also think that having had to play with 'Speroni' banners behind you and listening to the 'Speroni song' doesn't help. Hennessey didn't seem to lack confidence at the Euros did he? Out of all the positions on the park, goalkeeper (and striker) are the ones where confidence matters most.

The same 'Charges' have been laid against both Speroni and Mandanda who are very much 'Line' keepers and not ones to come out and collect to take the pressure off the defenders.

No Willo I just think he is Pony and I'd have every other 1st team keeper in this league ahead of him.

Mandanda is certainly not a 'line' keeper. No, he's more of an 'absentee' keeper

so how many of the goals he's conceded could half of you save? blaming Hennessey and wanting him out the club is scapegoat and purely because most want the sentimental story of speroni back in the team... quite frankly week in week out, chanting speroni's name (regardless of result) is wrong and no wonder he's possibly shot of confidence Edited by aaronpotts95 (05 Feb 2017 9.56am)

I think Hennessey's confidence has probably been 'Shot' for a number of reasons not least the abject defending around him. Yet to be convinced that both Mandanda and Speroni are the answer I'm afraid. We are in a 'Tailspin' and our problems go deeper than just the goalkeeper. But I understand some of the arguments raised against Hennessey.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |
