So we now have established that Sam is a winner, whatever happens its Pardew to blame....? If he manages to keep us up its his sheer brilliance, if not we will still blame the bloke who has underperformed but was never in a relegation position.... And I agree the prices on Cabaye and particularly Benteke were inflated but is seems to be the case and has everything to do with TV money pouring in. And Benteke's work rate seems not too impressive, but is that at this age AP fault for getting him in? Or is BFS man management not quite as brilliant as a lot of people suggest? And last games have shown what we know: his style of football is awful. First half last Saturday we were controlling the game but it seemed the players were scared to move forward. I'm sorry but AP has to be the blame for our current position, after 19 games last season we had 31 points and yet the second 19 saw us get only 11 points, then you carry on the second half of last season with the first half of this whilst AP was in change then we would have easily been relegated had that been the theoretical season. Its the form trend that has been destroyed by AP, we were in a great position at the end of 2015 and then AP convinced SP that he was a top six experienced PL who was going to get CP in to Europe, sadly SP let his heart rule his head to such an extent that following the very poor performance in the second half of last season SP still gave AP a new contract when firing him would have been the correct business decision and then on top of that allowed him to bring in players who were second rate at their existing clubs unlikely to ever figure in the first team or some even had sick notes in their pockets hardly the decisions of a top six experienced PL Manager!

Why does it always have to be one or the other? Pardew had to go, the results speak for themselves, we needed a change. On the other hand Allardyce has to take responsibility for the current terrible form. Part of the criticism for Pardew was how poorly he was doing with such a strong squad. Now suddenly people are claiming he ruined the team with his transfers. Lets face it, it didn't work under Pardew, its not working under Allardyce. Edited by JonJon Blazino (16 Jan 2017 12.11pm)

Edited by JonJon Blazino (16 Jan 2017 12.11pm) That's a matter of opinion.I don't share the view that we have "Such a STRONG squad". Pundits and those outside the club, look at the likes of Benteke, Townsend, Cabaye, Zaha etc and say that our squad is strong but apart from Zaha what have the others done ? They appear to be dis-interested in being at the club for whatever reason and if this is not addressed they will never perform to the standards we expect of them.

Edited by braunstoneagle (16 Jan 2017 12.32pm) Sorry but we were a long way from getting it right as you can see from our current position and the fact that we were 92/92 in the football league in terms of points earned per game, you cannot get much lower!

You dont turn round a sinking ship that quickly. I will start to judge Allerdyce on the players he brings in to the squad to address the biggest weaknesses and ultimately there is only one think I want from him this season which is to keep us up. Just as he did at Sunderland with a weaker squad where it took ten or so games to imprint his personality on the team

Edited by braunstoneagle (16 Jan 2017 12.32pm) What a silly bunch of kids with a banner, is of no relevance. The whole problem Allardyce has inherited is a bunch of unfit players, Pardew reign was a disgrace in terms of fitness, that is the main reason we kept losing late on in games. players became tired and lost concentration. He now has to get them fitter, if we are to stand any chance. Pardew was nowhere near making us a good team again, he was just papering over the cracks.
