That Trump is street smart is obviously true. He is a popularist who understands how to communicate in today's world. That doesn't make him clever though. It is what he is communicating and why which really needs to be understood. We are witnessing, both in the USA with Trump and the UK with Brexit and probably in many other places soon too, the death of democracy. It is dressed up in democratic clothes, by those who are behind it, and promoted as the people speaking. The overturning of the "elites" by the common man. If you really examine it then you can see it is no such thing. This is the manipulation of public opinion via social media, conspiracy theory and fake news. We are removing the power of our elected representatives and giving it to Facebook and Twitter. These are dangerous days and the intelligence services are quite right to be concerned. Why isn't Corbyn's similar MO not working then? He is supposed to be spreading the word by Social Media like Trump is. Every one here that matters and can vote still thinks Corbyn is a Muppet dressed like Compo.... only Momentum etc are buying into him. How is Trump defying the odds and going from strength to strength no matter what is thrown at him. It can't be a low IQ can it?

Its like watching a car crash, that just as you think it can't get any worse, another car crashes into the pile up. The man can barely string his speeches together, and is already sounding like a punch drunk boxer after the bell rings, and he hasn't taken office yet. Its certainly going to be the biggest joke, and provided it doesn't end in somekind of hallelujah! the missiles are flying apocalypse, it'll be a hilarious four years of watching the US plumb new lows and tear itself apart. Shame of it all is, its overshadowed the plan to propose high import taxes on businesses that move operations out of the US, which maybe was one of his more impressive ideas.

So has the CIA. I doubt they are in hock to the liberal agenda. All 17 US intelligence agencies, not just the CIA.

Only because Corbyn hasn't been elected to office and has no chance of ever being so. He would 'raise the bar' to a new record! I think you'll find Trump plays Dumb and is a lot more clever than you give him credit for... he's running rings around the TV companies. He's doing a very good job of playing dumb then, because he looked like he had no idea what he was doing, or talking about yesterday. Blaming the wrong people, attacking the press directly, and just offering up the same old mugging face and idiot soundbytes. Its lucky he hasn't already started back tracking on all his 'promises' on top of that. We're going to need a lot of popcorn for the next four years of watching this comedy show. Its hard to think of a president who's credibility was so undermined prior to taking office.

It's like having some mad cab-driver running the USA.
We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell] |

Although for both Boris and Trump, it now appears a more surreal 'idiot pretending to be an intelligent man pretending to be a buffoon.' If he wasn't about to have genuine power at his fingertips, this would be fantastic comedy rather than terrifying madness.

Based on current performance I cannot see Trump completing his term. Impeachment - or something - to remove him seems a near certainty. He may prove me wrong.

I'm confident that he'll be there in 8 years time saying thanks for the memories.
