Exactly. It's humourous stereotyping a la Harry Enfield and I bet if a real black sunglasses seller was at the party he would have been laughing at himself as well as with the guy.

If not, it would just mean he had a chip on his shoulder.

People are still getting real racism and racial referencing mixed up when they are so obviously different.

I take it you're referring to the people who object to the latter, which is probably half the population.

I remember my hairdresser once commenting on my hair being dark brown, almost black, with the classic disclaimer "I'm not being racist but", before comparing it to the hair the chinese. And this was 15-20 year ago. Why should people have to avaoid such a reference?

It's never a good idea to start a sentence with "I'm no racist but.."

it never ends well.

even worse are the people who end their sentences with.. "because I'm not a racist."

This story goes to the heart of the issue.

This is about the effects if immigration on our culture.

Here we have reverse racism if you please. We all know the cliche of skin head yobs abusing Asians and Black people, there has been plenty of that sort of behavior in the past. Now we have Black/Asian "gentlemen" having a go at aging Morris Dancers for wearing traditional black make up. A tradition that has nothing to do with black people apparently. Now this might genuinely offend some people, I don't know, but having a go at the old fellas is just bullying for me and I doubt those young men really give a dam. It's just a way for them to assert themselves just like the aforementioned skin head. Now the question of black face has been well covered and we all accept that impersonating black people in a condescending, insulting manner is in poor taste and just plain rude. However this story goes beyond that for me and must be seen in a broader context.
I see this story as a metaphor for what is to come in Britain. Now Morris dancing of any kind is totally silly to me but it is British culture. The politicians will be queuing up to be all PC about it I'm sure but I bet the same politicians won't say a word when women walk down the street covered from head to foot because their oppressive patriarchal religion demands it. Now that really offends me. Should I confront their husbands about it? Confronting people who offend you seems to be OK today.

Sadly this is just the tip of the iceberg and we can expect to see loads more of our culture eroded when it "offends" someone as migration reaches insane levels in the future.

Probably 95% of the entire population of the UK would have no idea why some Morris Dancers black their faces. Nothing to do with immigration, just a general lack of cultural knowledge.

Talking of Morris dancers, this is one of my favourite stories of the past few years.

Police were called after a mass brawl broke out in a pub car park between a group of morris dancers and a blind football team.

The footballers were enjoying a match on the village green at Rattlesden, near Stowmarket, using a ball with a bell in it so they could keep up with play.

But all hell broke out when the morris dancers began performing at a nearby pub.
A player kicked the ball off the pitch towards the Brewers Arms, and then mistook the morris dancers’ uniform bells for the one in the ball.

He promptly kicked one of the dancers in the shin, sending him flying over a table and crashing into a flower pot. A hanging basket then fell on his head.

More blind footballers then joined the melee, kicking out at the bells and then being surprised when they were punched by furious morris men.

The brawl was only stopped when the referee caught up and blew his whistle loudly.

A Suffolk police spokesman said: “It was certainly an unsual call from one of the locals in the pub. By the time we got there it had all calmed down, and both sides realised how the mistake had been made.

“In fact they had made up and were all enjoying a drink together, although a couple were still being patched up by the landlord’s wife.

“We took no further action, but recommended that the morris men did not use bells on their uniforms when the blind footballers were playing nearby.”

Typical of you to try and deflect from a serious issue that will effect your kids.

Don't make such a song and dance about it.

Affect.

How so? I'm more worried about cuts to services. Had to wait 16 weeks until CAMHS could see my son. But let's not blame the swingeing cuts to mental health services, it's people not being allowed to black up and bleeding immigration that's to blame.

Fortunately for my kids, even they can see past the blame immigration for anything rhetoric.

I think I'm beginning to realise that Hoof is right about you. You are just too much of a simpleton to see past your nose.

Oh dear, can't argue against my point about cuts to services being one of the main causes of our woes so you resort to name calling.

Funny how this simpleton has helped you learn correct word usage. What does that make you?

OK, you just concern yourself with my hastily written internet grammar. That is about as effective as you can be and it won't affect my opinions.

Did you deliberately ignore my first paragraph? Or can you not bring yourself to admit that I might be right about how cuts impinge on people's quality of life.
Your opinions about immigration being the cause of all the Uk's ills are beyond facile.
