In no way is Sam Allerdyce going to be a short term option - He'll want at least 2-3 years on contract. No ones going to take the Palace job on a short deal unless it comes with a massive bonus or pay out.

Plus, the football at West Ham under Sam, wasn't actually all that bad. We need to be realistic no ones going to come in for 'a few months' who is established and has a reputation at this level.

If we go Sam, I suspect he'll be here next season.

I'm not sure why he's got such a bad reputation for poor football. That team he built at Bolton with players like Okacha, Djorkaeff, Ivan Campo etc. was quite exciting to watch.

I understand all the reasons for Pardew's sacking but what if this is Steve Parish's first mistake? What if he and everyone else, including us fans, should've had the balls to see it through?
I haven't been 100% he should go and what worries me is will the team adapt quickly with a new defensive style to save us.

Has Parish let us down yet? Order yourself a fondue and relax.

True and as someone pointed out, West sham weren't boring when Sam was there. I was surprised when he left them Tbf. I wouldn't be unhappy with Sam at the helm, but I would prefer to be pushing for a manager who has had a higher pedigree. I thought Sam was punching well above his weight in the England job, but he would give us a solid foundation that AP had lost, certainly defensively.

I would be one hundred percent behind Mancini and Lombardo.

As i said on another thread, timing is odd and I wonder about the club strategy if after procrastinating the best they can do is Sam Alalrdyce

Nothing wrong with BFS

I think the timing is interesting, why not before the Moan U game or after the Watford game?

The conclusion I draw is that we want to get into the market before Swansea and others so we get the best choice. Currently quite a few good managers available.

I also read into this that Parish had his arm twisted by the Americans who are a bit more hard-nosed but deep down he knows they are right.

I have to say our recruitment has been pretty good recently but losing so many goals to silly mistakes, especially from set pieces, makes me question the coaching. To me that includes Millen and also Woodman. Hennessy just doesn't look disciplined and nor did Mandanda.

So clean sweep all round please, starting with a beauty contest like we had when we decided on Dougie.

Am glad the board gave Pardew time, rare in today's game. Sort of mixed emotions really. Glad he has gone but sad too as I really wanted him to succeed. Timing weird though!!!! Please not that money grabbing scammer Fat Sam. If we appoint him we may as well have stayed with what we had and saved £5 million. Just my opinion but I reckon the owners will have someone lined up and it's a big name. Mancini would be awesome.

My first reaction to the news of AP's sacking was "spineless."

Parish was all over the media after our 3-0 win over Southampton, backing him on the radio, saying he had a positive impact on all aspects of the the club.

Now, I thought Pardew's transfers were appalling and his desire to rid the club of Murray and Jedinak an embarrassment.

However, Parish and the owners were all for this new-look CPFC - out with the old and in with new - often French-speaking foreigners.

Parish absolutely seemed to love this vision and to oust his man now is so yellow and lacking any backbone.

I think most are generally supportive of SP; sometimes frustrated by his long-winded way of doing things, but very few doubt his ability as a businessman.

Totally agree but it's going to be difficult getting Woodman out of the door.

Parish was being the consummate diplomat and has supported Pardew publically for as long as he dared (probably too long in truth). What do you have against French as a first language; it's Zaha's?
