I'm sure millions of people who wear a poppy will be shocked to hear they are walking around with a political symbol on their lapel.

And how come England and Wales get a combined fine of £35k and Ireland, whose team commemorated the Easter Rising (which was a political act), are fined just £4k?

Glad to see that the FA are already working on their appeal, and that the other home nations will probably be appealing too..... hope they all take it to the wire and refuse to pay.

Even better to just ignore it and refuse to pay. FIFA's stance doesn't even deserve the dignity of a response.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Because ironically with FIFA it's all about politics

Make monkey noises chant racist slogans and throw missiles and you're all good. Well as long as you are from central/eastern Europe

Commemorate the war dead. Not acceptable

the dignified don't even enter in the game

It's basically we'll fine you what we think you can afford to pay, rather than being reflective of the supposed infringement.

Arguably the fact we still require the British Legion displays just how much our governments care about 'the troops they laude as hero's and icons'.

In truth, the government doesn't give a f**k about any single one of us.

Pretty much the same basis as their bribery system. I just assumed they needed the money to pay for legal defences.

Quite. Let's test their metal.

How bad would it be if we got banned from Russia and Qatar?
