Supporting Palace with AP is akin to being a wealthy Roman citizen
living in England circa 3rd century.

You fear for the long term as you know deep down the
governance is flawed & will ultimately fail.

Yet there are enough positive respites provide
occasional false joy & retain the belief that all is rosy in the garden.

And there are absolutely no viable alternatives.

Here's waiting the Saxon invasion !!!

I'm no fan of Pardew per se... I was joining in the shouts of "Keep it away from Pardew" at the ZDS cup final for a reason.

But as a manager he fits our club.

Our club... the one that's currently doing okay in mid table in the toughest league in the world.

Given the roller-coaster history we've 'enjoyed' pretty much ever since I first went to stand on a muddy bank where the AW is now and watch John Jackson, John Sewell and co. back in the mid 60s.

Notwithstanding 90/91 (a one-off thanks to Ian Wright), these are the glory days for Crystal Palace. The mere fact that we can afford to buy a top quality striker instead of constantly losing them (see Ian Wright's mention above) is testament to that.

People really do need to manage their expectations more effectively.

We looked a lot better against Leicester on Saturday than Man U did against Chelsea yesterday. And they're the top spenders with the 'special' manager.

That's the kind of perspective needed.

You could take a long bath, have a glass of wine then throw buns to the Scots from the top of Hadrian's Wall. Actually, those were halcyon days!

A voice of reason, that many of us understand and have seen the bad times.
Most are just totally unrealistic, it stems from the younger generation having a feeling of entitlement.

Will Leicester be champions this season with Ranieri as there manager? No. Absolutely enormous achievement but it was an absolute freak that they won the league and it won't happen again.

You seem to forget the season before last they were fighting for there lives to stay up.

In response to anyone who says we don't appear when the team wins - your right, can't speak for the rest but I honestly don't see the point! You can't win, you can't have an opinion. My concerns are still there either way and just imagine how much I'd get slated for daring to say anything negative about pardew when we're actually winning a couple of games. I appear during the abysmal performances where we don't actually nick anything just to see if it's sinking in for anyone yet. His winning streaks don't make me all of a sudden think he's the man for the job and that's because I don't see his tactics as sustainable! When we won 3 in a row the smugness from people who told us "never ever be negative" was an utter joke! "Where are you pardew out brigade now" etc. As if all of us are sitting at home upset we won! It's not how it works, no matter how delusion some of you people are - I don't like Pardew, it's as simple as that but for the record I go to palace week in week out all over the country and I back them 100% and therefore feel I've earned the right to form whatever f***ing opinion I want on the manager.

But we haven't been abysmal have we. We lost to a good Leicester team but still managed to create enough chances that on another day would atleast be enough for a draw, and the west ham game tho pretty poor was a missed penalty from being a point. That's the players not the manager.

So you admit your opinion is not football based but from a personal dislike for pardew.

It's embarrassing you go to ever game and still have no clue what your talking about.

On paper, nor on a football pitch, are we anywhere near as good as Leicester. The last 55 Premiership games proves it. Leicester have lost 6.

Deluded anyone who thinks we are.

Spot on, although we shipped three goals we played better than we did in the first half against West Ham. Decent opposition this weekend demands a full 95 minutes of effort from the team. We'll see!

The problem is everybody thinks they are an expert nowadays and think they know better than the pros. I heard some t*** on the radio today saying Gary Neville got his analysis completely wrong on yesterdays chelski game. Yeah right. As before we can all have opinions, but really we dont know more than the people who have been doing the job since childhood.

Some footballers are fick and i would trust my judgement over some of them who commentate any day of the week. They may have played 700 games but have they watched 700 games with a critical eye? Nah.

According to that logic we should lose to all the teams who finished above us last season and beat all those who finished below. Yeah, like that will happen.

LC's squad last season cost about £54m to assemble. We had players who cost us over £80m in the XI on Saturday. Either they are better at signing players than we are or their manager is better.

I think we should give Mr AP a few more games and see how it goes.
The only thing that that gets up my goat are the excuses other fans constantly shout about is we need top players to improve our play we ONLY have championship players.

Well Leicester, Bournemouth, Watford all have championship players in their ranks, and they all are playing better football than us.

Its the tactics the Manager employs, and how he motivates these championship players.

Really? You would seriously say you could do a job someone has done all their life better than them even though you can have no idea about the day to day intricasies. Remember we see an hour and a half of the working week. You might have seen the dustman empty your bins but unless you have worked in that industry i gaurantee you wont know more about his job even if he was the biggest knuckle dragger on the planet.
