Not fussed either way. His record is hardly earth shattering. Plenty of managers as good if not better about.

Being "set in the past" gives one a certain perception on potential issues when making important decisions, its why I couldn't get a YTS placement as a CEO at a large Blue Chip Company when I was younger. You are blinded, like others by your dislike of AP and you disregard both the current climate and historical indicators of why our manager needs to stay.I pity you because your agenda of anyone but Pardew means you simply cannot enjoy seeing us win and how can that be right? If AP stays for another 3 years or more you will have to change your opinion or endure being miserable whenever your team win.

Reel them off - better record than Pardew as a whole not some random number you chose

OR...how many has he won in the last 76 or the last 3? What is our current position in the PL after he spent a net £9 million in the transfer window? IF Chelsea are our local benchmark where are we in relation to then after the opening games of the season? You lot choose the one stat that works for you,a sample size that fits your borefest agendas and proves how miserable you all are.

Its more the upheaval of getting a new manager and then them getting the team to play their way. In terms of Pardew, he's a decent manager not great and definitely replaceable.

Personally I'd look at Sean Dyche who I really rate, Flores who used to manager Watford or Warburton at Rangers.

I'll be gobsmacked if Pards got the job...he's only in the running with the bookies because he's English and half decent.

The Elephant in the room being that his cupboard full of Skeletons will make Sam's look miniscule in comparison...which is why the press will talk him up for it so they can knock him down and make a fortune in the process.

Won't happen...

I would be more than happy for AP to get the Eng job, has all the right credentials,,,, A man who has 10 paragraphs worth of 'Controversies' on Wikipedia, multiple superinjunctions, failure specialist having not one a single thing in 20 years.

We would be fine this season under the guidance of someone like Hodgson whilst we search for proper long term manager for next season onwards.

Pardew will fail miserably for England and deserves to fail in order to bring his ego back down to reality.

Seriously? We have had a decent start and we appear to be a halfway decent team - even if there are still deficiencies in certain areas that will hopefully be looked at in Jan. And yes, the next few games will see if we can consolidate that good start.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's had some luck in games, made some shocking subs at points in matches and isn't the greatest tactician, but this isn't the time to lose the manager that has seemed to get the team going now. We've finally got a bit of stability in that job after the short stints of Holloway, Pulis & Warnock.

Hodgson & Bruce both out of work as managers, but are either going to be better with our team? And then another period of transition as they try and mould the team - or change it wholesale next summer?

You may not like AP as a person, but does any set of fans have 100% confidence in their manager, let alone all of them like him?

After Sam, I also can't see the FA appointing anyone with even the smallest amount of controversy behind them - at least not this time around. Bruce I would say is most likely for England, unless he gets tarnished with the Telegraph's further allegations . . .

At least we'll have half a dozen Palace players in the England squad. Works for me!!!

Pards is favourite for the England Job. Burt would we care that much? Yes we have made a good start to the season, but we should be doing well after all. We have enough quality to be top half without question. There were enough rumours of player unrest last season and Pardew's arrogance when things are going well, that it would lead many of us to believe that the same thing could happen again. Personally, i would not shed that many tears. In our current position in the league and with the quality we have got i believe there would be plenty of good managers to choose from. You never know a new manager might decide that buying a left back in January would be a good idea!!!! Also, he might decide that Sullay KaiKai is worth a go in the first team!!! Either way, i feel total apathy about the whole thing. Does anyone else feel the same?

Who are all these quality managers available at this point? Nigel Pearson?

AP is neither the best nor the worst of PL managers, but as it stands, he's in the process of building his own squad and developing his desired style of play. Despite the current injuries, he is (touch wood!) doing pretty well in the league at the moment and the disruption of having to make a new appointment, at this stage, would in my opinion, be a disaster. It would be another season or more of adapting to yet another managers tactics and adjusting the squad to suit his ideas.

So, in answer to the original question, yes I would care very much. If he were to go on another extended losing run, having been backed in the transfer market, I might be persuaded to change my mind
