Think he'll make a spectacular fck up every now and then if he keeps trying to be a ball-playing, dribbling goalie. It will be worth it if he keeps up his distribution and his confidence doesn't go when that happens. As a top France goalie, you'd hope that he's resilient enough to cope when the day comes.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Bravo showed what happens when it goes wrong (I thought it was a pen and a red card when he 'tackled' Rooney) and I think any goalie who does this sort of thing is going to get it wrong occasionally, we have to accept that as it's clearly part of Mandanda's game and not go ballistic when it does happen.

It's kinda besides the point. As playing high as a keeper sweeper you cut down massively the amount of shots and crosses you'd have to deal with, vs should you be a goal line hugger like Hennessey. Cool. I think he could be one of the keepers of the season. I feel much more comfortable with him in goal over WH.

You can get away with it abroad because the keeper is never pressurised but here it is risky. Bravo got a real culture shock at the pace of everything. I think Steeeve will learn quickly though to not take the p*ss

His positioning and goalkeeper intelligence is just so far above and beyond WH. Hennessey positioning can be just awful at times (that goal in the Euro's). Mandanda knows how to cut the angle down perfectly, makes it so difficult to score on him 1 on 1 and the defenders trust him to make the save. So they can cut off other passes and angles when they are in trouble and trust him to make that save. How many really good saves has he made in the last 2 games? 3 or 4? Even that save on the distance shot in Borough game was clutch, it was knuckled and wobbling and he stayed with it perfectly. In other words, I love him. ha. He is going to be a game changer all season long.

Can we finally put the argument over Hennessey being gash to bed now then?

Hahah Lukey, I love the fact you just have to throw it in there, but yes we can. Jimmy Cleansheets would have been an upgrade
