Wally Alert. Take time out, read other threads, learn to spell ? Glaziermart doesn't read other threads as he only likes starting threads (one per day in season) and tends not to revisit them to see other peoples' comments

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Fans think their experts' by james03 Lets be honest, all us fans think that x years of watching Palace every other week makes us an expert. Much better qualified than a manager who played in the top leagues for 11 years and managed for 17. Without these views, the HoL would be a lot quieter (some would say better, but I couldn't possibly comment).
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Fans think their experts' by james03 I think this one is about managing people's expectations. The papers have been full of talk about Benteke and Berahino....Sakho seems something of a downgrade in comparison. There is also the question of if West Ham don't want this player, why should we. Personally I think he has all the stuff we are looking for, but whether he can produce the goods on a regular basis remains to be seen. Anyway, that's my expert opinion.

If Dzeko was out of form you have another player who can't come in and do a capable job because he is not motivated and hasn't played enough. As I said I don't believe they are the same, I believe Sakho is a slight upgrade so it improves the squad and ain't aims healthy competition which is vital. We saw last season the damage of having one player for a position who is far better than the others, it meant we were screwed when we had injuries as we didn't have capable or in form replacements. The new piece of information in this is that Carlos Bacca might not be joining Wet Spam. In which case they might want to sell Sackho off quickly to generate funds they can recycle to help fund another bid, or they might want to hang on to Sakho for longer until they finally do get a preferred striker in?

More likely to hold on to him rather than be left short. Cant see funds being an issue.

I though wet spam stated Sakho would not be allowed to leave until a replacement had been found. So the fact that Bacca move may be off means that any deal for Sakho will be further delayed.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Fans think their experts' by james03 The reason I know I am an expert is because I have managed to get a tier 8 team into tier 2 on Football Manager. Ok, yes, my third season started really badly so I used CTRL-ALT-DEL to reset my results several times (about 60% of my fixtures actually) and ended up winning promotion via the playoffs! I have a few imaginary press conferences in my head where I said that my strategy was to try to keep the dressing room positive and to encourage the players to play out draws during the tough spell because 1 scrappy point was better than 0 entertaining points. I've worked alongside Kevin Phillips as my assistant manager and hired Julian Speroni as a goalkeeping coach. So yeah, try and tell me I'm not an expert now.

Amateur...just alter records in the database adding yourself and your family as world class players and 16yrs old....and you'll reduce the need to 'reset' by half

I downloaded the in-game editor at one point on a previous career save. I bumped up my keeper's stats across the board. I think because there is an equation relating to a player's potential, all of the stats I altered very quickly crept back towards the original stats by way of him training like an absolute cart horse. Very clever, if you start mucking about with your players you still have to make other adjustments to keep their stats high and keep them happy at your club!
