He played last week Spoke to my source who told me about this 10 days ago, said things are moving forward with Palace initial offer of pay as you ply being thrown back at them, Apprantly its a 12 month contract with the option of Palace to extend it even though Palace still hopeful for a 5 month contract! The other interesting item of information he said was he isn't our first choice !!! If we don't sign our first choice in by the 16th you might see him at the training ground. Oh and Strikers aren't the only position Could you clarify a couple of bits at all? a) Who did he play for last week?

Oh and Strikers aren't the only position I don't think he's played in any formal matches. This all makes sense and is quite believable. You'd expect this is exactly how the negotiations would go; Palace's opening offer would be a 5 month deal with pay based on incentives and Adebayor asking for an 18 month deal with pay guaranteed. If they decide they're right for each other, no doubt they'll meet somewhere in the middle. As I see it, Pards wants a striker in by the next league game. So we'll probably try to get our primary target signed by early next week and if we haven't done that we'll get serious about Adebayor.

I can't see Parrish being in favor of getting him. I'm sure I've heard SP say on several occasions when it comes to signings that getting the right character in is very high on his attributes list. Wouldn't signing EA be a very public reversal on this? Also if he is not at a club why would we sign him now? Correct me if I am wrong but I though unaffiliated players could sign outside the transfer window. Surely it would make more sense to pursue other targets until deadline day then if we are still wanting in the striker department he would be an option. Edited by Mwncisee (06 Jan 2016 7.07pm)

According to the web we made a €27million bid today for Zaza, so i guess thats the first choice! He couldn't sign for anyone as he had a contractual agreement with Tottenham as if he did he would loose out on a finical agreement between him and Spurs! EA wants 18 months and is using this against Palace and Watford as both are only looking for a shorter term. Like I said Palace are hoping to do business early and this isn't the first choice!

We might have made an offer but I don't think Adebayor will accept then. If coming to use cancels his agreement with Spurs which is 100k a week then a 6 month contract isn't worth it for him financially as I very much doubt we are offering him anything close to that a week. Alternatively we could offer to pay a % of his wages but that would entail us negotiating with Spurs and there have not even been rumors of that.

Ok that does make it more feasible then. Just out of interest then, many have said they would want him on a 6 month contract, would any of those people be happy if EA gets his demands and it is a 12 month or 18 month contract?
