I lived at Stockwell Park Estate as a child. I was there as a 12 year old at the time and watched some of it from the safety of a high rise balcony window.

Those who refer to any justifications are in my view talking out of their rear ends.

I would be surprised if anyone with any decency partook in those riots. The people I watched were just opportunistic thugs.

Doesn't matter what eye-witness accounts you give the likes of K, they will still hero-worship the scumbags and come up with absurd justifications. Nothing shakes their faith in their politically correct nonsense.

I refer you both to police operations and sometimes very violent attitude to the young black males in the area in the previous year, months, weeks and days leading up to the riot and also the 'Sus Law'.

There is plenty of documented evidence from participants and others. If you both were to avail yourselves you will see that plenty of rioters were not your usual thugs. More chaps who had had enough of continual harassment based on the colour of their skin and decided to act.

Police operations that were interfering with their rampant criminal activities. They should have sent in the troops and shot a few of the 'chaps'.

Lets just say for arguments sake there were 500 muggings in Brixton over a six month period back then. How many different muggers do you think were responsible? A rough figure. 20? 40? 100?

And how many thousands of black teenagers/young men would have been living in that area at the time? A few.

They were deemed guilty by skin association by the police. There's yer riot.

The ones not mugging were probably dealing drugs.

Racist stereotyping. Good work.

Someone has to break it to you gently, NG. You're a wally. You post nonsense, repeatedly, and you live, in my honest opinion, in a state sponsored bubble of your own waffle. Often and repeatedly in school hours when you should be teaching.

Please take time out from HOL "General Talk", and educate our children as you are being paid to do? Come back in a few years, it will still be a clear blue landscape mate. And you'll have hopefully matured a year or two in the meantime. Maybe even married, met Jeremy Corbyn, fulfilled a few life goals. For all I know this fellow may have said many things that make him a wally, but this isn't one of them. Come on, let's have a bit of sense here.

On the positive side, o f, you aren`t the most prolific of posters. On the downside, sadly, the posts you do make are very predictable in their lack of debate, and their puerile nature. Re-read them. Surely you must see that.

Underwriting every post you disagree on with "wally alert" is not only tedious, but indicates a striking lack of imagination.

My only wish Kermy is to have had you living there during that period like I did. You wouldn't believe such rot.

The Police in Brixton were ridiculously soft focused. Drugs were openly smoked in areas that the Police would just patrol around. You wouldn't see Police patrolling on their own. Crime was common, my Mum was mugged and our flat robbed and I have scars and finger damage from an attack there. The gangs used to get away with murder compared to what would happen in any decent part of the country.

You should have been there.

The links are not spurious. I don't post whilst I am teaching, despite what you say. I am in a long term relationship.

What is sad is that you seem to be stalking me around this site posting little personal digs which some may say was trolling.

If you don't like what I say, argue the point.

You know I lived very near Brixton Stirling and also knew very well about the crime problems in Stockwell and Brixton. But there was a massive breakdown of trust and fear from the community toward the police because of their brutality and operations at the time. Then the SPG got involved and the rest is history.

They should have dealt with things differently. Operation Swamp meant every young black male was a target. Lots of innocent people were beaten up and harassed.

Maybe my voice would be different if I had suffered from crime as you and you family sadly did but factually what I wrote above did happen.

It's a waste of time Stirling, these right-on, middle-class New Left extremists will reject all evidence of the real situation. They will make excuse after excuse for criminals and thugs from the safety of their nice little middle class lives. They would stand there saying "We understand you! We understand the tyranny of the white establishment towards you" as their houses are burnt down.

Yes Comrade Gussett we are aware of the Scarman whitewash, or should we say blackwash.

"blackwash",in the same way that Stephen Lawrence committed "suicide" presumably?

The Lawrence murder has nothing to do with this thread, but as you choose to bring it up... Of course his murder was a racist crime, part of the general problems between various 'communities' in this country. I don't recall any inquiry saying he committed suicide. On the contrary, the voluminous coverage of the appalling event highlighted white racism, so called institutional police racism etc etc. Some of the perpetrators are now in prison, albeit via somewhat dubious legal proceedings, although I don't really care about that as they were clearly guilty (although there would be cries of 'the legal system is racist' if the colours were reversed). Not sure why his mum is now a member of the House of Lords though.
