Bamford is a very good player. Light years better than Sanogo. Be interesting to see who doesn't get on the plane tomorrow.

I reckon Parish got a plane with a few extra seats, he's not silly, also they have those fold down seats that the flight hostess' sit on.

I like Bamford as a player and if it was permanent I would be happy. But I feel we are beyond loaning other teams youngsters. We have our own players who have an equal upside, JW / Gayle (possibly) but we are investing time and money in developing another teams player.

Well put. Totally agree. When you look at the youngsters we have produced and the guys coming through the ranks, why are we loaning a youngster?Yes he did well last season in the championship but surely we could get better who is proven at this level. Not that excited by this but I hope the lad proves me wrong.

I'll say it again. People who are underwhelmed by Bamford's transfer know nothing about football. They've been blinded by the premier league and possibly don't bother looking at talent lower down the leagues.

The boy has bags of potential! The only reason for being underwhelmed is knowing it isn't permanent. Bamford is a class act. If he makes the step up quickly he'll do really well.

in your humble opinion of course.
I'm not convinced he will fit into our style of play. And yes I have seen him play a few times recently

He will fit into our system. Very similar player to Matt Jansen (as I've said on the bamford thread). Like Jansen he likes going deep to receive the ball but his hold up play and heading ability is decent too (again like Jansen).

The sad thing is I reckon we'll be longing for his permanent signing after a few months but Chelsea won't sell.

His contract runs out in 2017, next year he'll either sign an extension or they'll sell him. If he wanted to come to us/leave for guarantee first team, he'll tell them he's not signing an extension.

Do we really have a Development forward that is currently at Bamford's level though? Kaikai scored a fair few at L2, Allassani and Anderson have yet to make senior team starts for anyone. Bamford has played almost 100 games in L1 and the Championship scored almost 50 goals.

What loaning and playing Bamford says to our Development squad is, do well out on loan and you'll get your chance in the team. It's what future Kane's/Bamford's/Ing's may choose playing for Palace over seating on the bench for Man City.

Indefatigable, you must stop talking sense on here, much better to be a sulky, emotional, knee jerk serial complainer

A loan deal for Bamford shows no ambition at all in my opinion. We need a Premier league goal scorer not a championship one. If this was a permanent deal it would be an excellent signing but we have him on loan.

Did you say the same this time last year when we signed the Championship winger Zaha on loan?

Happy with McCarthy and totally not bothered about Bamford. I just hope he's not our main striker signing.

I predict that in a year's time you will be one of many posters complaining about Chelsea refusing to sell Bamford to us for any price.

Good point; too short term. However, you have to take one season at a time, especially when you are relative minnows in a very big pond. If he comes good, 20 goals for this bloke should help to keep us top half. It would also give us time to find somebody more permanent in the likely event Chelsea won't sell.
