I don't think Caulker is worth all that money,we can do better centre back wise paying alot less.

I agree, half that £8m is still too much, and we did in Scott Dann, plus all our other centre backs cost nothing, and none have let us down.

I can see QPR going the same way as Portsmouth.

Not even a remote chance. Do you have any idea how much Tony Fernandez is worth? Clearly not...

That's the crux though Syd...when he gets bored or decides not to throw his money in willy nilly anymore QPR are in big trouble

In spite of my intense dislike of wealthy foreign owners polluting the game, Fernandez is actually a pretty genuine bloke and probably behind QPR in a far more "heart and soul" way than Man City or Liverpool's owners, who are in it largely for personal glory and/or profit. I think you are right that there are clubs who will get f***ed over per the above scenario, but I don't think Fernandez will allow QPR to be one of them. I may be wrong, though. Time will tell.

I still hope they get made to pay a whacking big fine for Financial Fair Play though. Despite him seemingly being the most genuine of all the Middle East/Far East investors, and better than quite a few of the Americans too, what they are doing is still so wrong. Paying Christopher Samba £100k a week with a stadium capacity of 20,000 being probably the biggest example of his reign. Assuming they play at home every other week, when he was there they'd need to have taken £10 a ticket just to pay him!

For example?

for example i'd try and sign Scott Danns former centre back partner at Blackburn, forget the guys name but he's as good as Caulker and will cost alot less in transfer fee and wages.

and thus a proper footie fan which suggests to me he would have a care for the English game and not leaving a club in tatters. But I may be wrong, I just agree with syd. As owners go there are many a worse option out there who I wouldn't trust.

You mean Liam Ridgewell who has gone to the USA, or Roger Johnson who has been terrible for years at Wolves and being loaned to West Ham last jan and only played 4 games?

Rather hope we do splash out thanks, if not for Caulker then for another promising defender in Jamal Lascalles, Craig Dawson or Harry Maguire however apart from Dawson they dont have PL experience like Caulker
