it's a pity Liverpool fans don't remember Hysel with such reverence. Indeed

I would quite like to be there to celebrate our best season in 20+ years and Liverpool's first title in 25. Of all the top eschelon of clubs, Liverpool is the only one I have a soft spot for. When I got into football in the late 70s, listening to European matches on Radio 2 midweek was a big deal. Liverpool were consistently the best team in England, and they dragged the standard up. Perhaps the old order is coming back, and Utd and @rsenal will be reduced to just occasionally successful cup teams. Here's hoping... Then there's so many happy memories of watching Palace v Liverpool...a 2-2 in 1980 with Vince skinning Alan Kennedy...the Cup semi at Villa...the 1-0 (Bright) in the League the following year...Julian Gray's brace in the Cup when we only had 10 men for 1/2 the game at Anfield... So I don't begrudge them their celebrations. Rather them than Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal...

Liked em ever since lots of them congratulated us on the way out of the semi at Villa Instead of the minute's silence we should have sung their song. It would have been uplifting rather than sombre. Quite happy to sing you'll never walk alone in harmony with them after the final whistle. As long as they join in with glad all over. Edited by Mapletree (21 Apr 2014 10.50pm)

I'm sure they will have won the league by the time they come to us as hopefully we'd have beaten City. If they do, fine, no embarrassing pitch invasion and no bending over for them and they can do what they want. What a season we've had. Can't wait to show the players and management our gratitude. Will always remember being robbed of saying 'cheers' at Wednesday away. All in all an embarrassing thread to start - Liverpool are tw@ts, concentrate on the club you actually came to watch - and enjoy celebrating the last home game of this remarkable season. Done.

Edited by Mapletree (21 Apr 2014 10.50pm) good to see someone balancing out the thread... there are good liverpool fans and bad just like there are with palace... dunno what all this hatred is about... but everyone seems to love chelsea and city... someones gotta win the title and whoever it is good luck to em but out of the teams in the race to win it liverpool seem to have played the best football so if they win it fair play to em. some people just seem full of hate... chill out cos all that anger(fake or not) is only gonna stress you out.

Why can't we just unite and celebrate both being in the EPL and ofcourse, pay respect to the English champions - a true football fan would like to see history in the making - i'm sure if both clubs made an announcement - it could be a wonderful send off - a draw to win the title would be sweet

Very unsurprised to see some of the comments by the usual suspects. We really do have some f*cking idiots supporting Palace. Singing YNWA is a silly suggestion but some of the posts about it being 25 years and should get over it is classless. 96 football fans died. 96. Regardless of if you have a fake 'hatred' for Liverpool you should really have empathy for fans who didn't make it home from a football match. I dispair.

The Hillsborough disaster is irrelevant to the op. That it has been mentioned is an embarrassment. What the op mentioned was we somehow do a Liverpool love in singing YNWA. Well that is an awful suggestion. I am indifferent to scousers. They are slightly up themselves, detest London as a city and believe they are the funniest people in the world. Their accents are ridiculous and you cannot even distinguish the men from the women due to the pitch and tone of them. They are amongst the most annoying people in the UK. Likewise they would say the same about Londoners. I am massively indifferent to Liverpool or any other team. I want palace to win; end of! I would also want us to be the team responsible for taking the prem race to the last day. Plus Chelsea are 25-1 to win it now. As much as I'd rather gerrard lifted the trophy i couldn't resist putting a tenner on at those odds!

The thought of Selhurst singing YNWA is simply nauseating. Luckily it will never happen.
