nige-went down to the old mitcham training ground as a young kid and remember having a worm fight with him

Edited by Beckenhameagle (01 Jul 2005 3:09pm)

As Danny Butterfield wheeled away, arms aloft in celebration of his third goal – an expression of delight and astonishment on his face – a man seated beside me in the stands turned to his young son and told him that he would remember this moment for the rest of his life. I will too.

Fleming and Matt Clarke are top blokes. When I was a mascpt (v Brigthton 5-0) they were the only two that actually talked to us instead of just signing and passing on.

Jolly Rodger is also a nice bloke. He was handing out the trophies at my brothers football presentation the other weekend and we had a long chat to him (which annoyed most poeple because nearly everyone there were brighton fans)

Fleming, Coleman and Ventola was friendly (even though he could hardly speak a word of english.) Kit Symons was also a very nice bloke with a good sense of humour.

Nigel Martyn. He sat beside me and my family at a special needs school fete, he was on the 'beat the goalie' stall surprisingly (not). Chatted away with us and let me take photos. Also chatted with his wife (didn't know who she was at first)as she was sitting beside us with their baby, when he just walked over and sat down.

Also met Sandor Torghelle recently in the club shop, another nice fella to talk to.

This is my eldest with him.

Dougie Freedman by a clear mile. The guy has been my Football idol since he moved to palace (which was shortly after i started supporting palace).

Have met him on a number of occasions, Club shop a couple of years back, Pizza Hut in Crystal palace when Carlo Nash, Stevie Kember and a few others were there, thats going back about 7-8 years now.

Smoke me a kipper, i'll be back for breakfast.

Iain Wright, when i was a wee lad, my dad took me to a few gmaes, and his mate was friends with wrightey, so as i was a little lad, in my eyes he was a superstar (and still is) and was just very kind to me!

Geoff Thomas - saw him in the pre season to the 1991-92 season after the cup final. Was chatting about footie and that and my girlfriend asked him for a kiss!!! And he obliged. Real nice fella and glad he is so well loved by our club. Didnt work out with my girlfriend though!! lol

Saw Simon Roger in Croydon club a couple of years ago and he was really pleased someone noticed him (me) until i said i thought he WAS a really good player even though he went to Brighton.

Not too sure on Clinton though, my nephew was mascot and he did the smile for the picture then f*cked off. Maybe it was because he was half hour late and got a bollicking from Coppell. We had to stand outside the changing room whilst Stevie had a go at him and Leon Mckenzie!!
