I went to every game in the '76 cup run, which was absolutely amazing, even if it ended in tears against Southhampton. We should also remember that he set up the youth system that (nearly) produced the 'Team of the Eighties' and won the FA youth Cup twice... Good on yer, Mal!

I wasn't around when Big Mal was manager, but I wish I could thank him for picking the Eagle and the red and blue colors for the club. Really like his sense of humor, too, based on quotes I've read. RIP, Mr. Allison.

Dont know if this is anywhere
A club statement read: "Allison will always be remembered for the 1975/76 season when, as a third division club, he led us to a fantastic FA Cup run that included wins against Leeds, Chelsea and Sunderland and booked our place in the semi-finals for the first time in the club's history. "He made a short return as manager in 1980/81, but the 70s and his Fedora will always be what Allison will be remembered for at Selhurst Park." Edited by The Sash (15 Oct 2010 3.58pm)

The big man would not want silence, we should give him the biggest cheer & clap to his memory. He gave me the best years as a Palace supporter,I went everywhere during the 74-75 season(missing 3 games home & way) & but for an accident, would have done the same in the 75-76 season. Very sad day. Gutted. I can't imagine there will be a minutes silence tomorrow somehow, best leaving that till the next home game. A true charecter that will always be remembered in Palace history.

I still regard his few years at Selhurst Park as some of my most enjoyable times as a Palace supporter, despite the two relegations in two seasons.

I can see him now on that first day of the season against Notts Cty.He had a touch line ban on him so wasn't allowed on the bench.
RIP Malc.
