The Turkish league is on par with the Scottish league, but have far more racist fans. He has always had his own interests first over Palace, nothing wrong in that. He was never going to win anything at Palace, due to the highly competitive league, if he is happy with some Turkish silverware that’s his choice.
He has chosen to play in a lower standard league, if he went to Spain, Italy, Germany etc he would of found it more challenging, but seems not to have fancied that.

You have obviously never been to a Scottish game i take it

Nothing official yet on the club website, but the piece on the Mail online that includes a statement, apparently from Wilf, looks pretty certain he's gone.

So, I thank him for the good times, some outstanding moments, his loyalty since he was 8 years old and I wish him well in Turkey. For me this move is far better than if he'd gone to another PL club where he could have tormented us a couple of times a year.

Good luck Wilf and thanks for the memories.

I think this is what you are alluding to POG . . .

Wilfried Zaha has confirmed in an Instagram post that he will be leaving Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old scored 90 goals in 458 games for Palace, having joined the club as a 12-year-old.

"As I start a new chapter I want to speak to you Palace fans who mean so much to me," he wrote.

"We have been through so much together, including 10 years in the Prem [Premier League]. There are loads of amazing memories that will stay in my head forever and also some really tough times along the way, but I'm so proud to have played my part in getting us to the Prem and helping to keep us there.

"I've been wearing the Palace shirt since I was eight-years-old, it's literally been my second skin and I always gave everything when I wore it.

"You have all seen me angry and frustrated, but you've also seen my hunger and passion and the joy that I take from winning, and I hope that is the memory that lives on in the minds of Palace fans."

He's gone because it's almost guaranteed silverware, albeit in a less competitive league, and Champions League football.

Have no issue with that and respect it more than going to Saudi Arabia purely for money.

What I do take issue with is that our first game is now less than three weeks away and he has clearly pissed the club around all summer, massively impacting our transfer plans.

Continuing to receive treatment from the club and train at our training ground, apparently even posting pictures, has greatly misled the fan base. This isn't the behaviour of someone with the interests of the club at heart IMO.

I also take issue with the fact that we had to find out by him posting a video for the Galatasaray fans with his 'goodbye' to Palace an afterthought.

It's the most recent example of a series of disappointing and, in my view, disrespectful actions that included him throwing in a transfer request on the eve of the season and his brother publicly demanding that we let him go.

It's a pity it has ended like this but it's done now. He's no longer our player so let's move on, we won games without him at the end of last season.

The most important thing now is trying to convince Olise to turn down Chelsea somehow, as that will be a nightmare.

For years now Zaha has said fairly openly, and always with respect, that he regretted signing his last contract with Palace because, as much as playing for his local and boyhood team does matter, he is first and foremost a professional who wants to play at the highest level he can in the time that he has. If memory serves he binned the agent who advised him to sign the deal. It never needed Hercule Poirot to work out how Zaha felt.

In terms of him pissing the club around all summer, I disagree. Zaha never downed tools, he always played through injury for Palace, and he produced. He is entitled to assess his options like any other person in the world of work. The club has known for years that his contract ran out this summer and that he wanted to win things / play in Europe if possible. Two years ago they knew that Wilf only had two years left. Last year they knew it was one. At Christmas, they knew he hadn't signed a new deal. We could go on. Surely, based on all known facts (as above) the club always felt Wilf leaving was the more likely outcome?

The fact we haven't signed an obvious replacement is probably less to do with uncertainty around Wilf, and more to do with the normal way things work in the window - whoever we are interested in will be assessing their other options, selling clubs will be waiting to see if they land their own targets before agreeing to sell, etc and so on. It is not always possible to have transfer targets wrapped up early, as there are too many moving pieces beyond your control. There is a reason deadline day is so hectic.

Finally, let's not forget the money side of this. Even if Palace had offered a £200k p/w contract as reported, Wilf would have cost us £10m a year. That is a lot in wages, but not much in the context of an overall transfer budget. The idea we would be unable to afford to make offers to possible targets and also offer the contract to Wilf at the same time doesn't add up.

The club could, should, and I'm sure have been, working on incoming deals to replace Zaha as best they can regardless of any lingering hope he may stay. That none of them have come to fruition yet will have little or nothing to do with Palace waiting for Wilf.

They've had months to sort out a replacement maybe they'll do something now?

If Wilf's re-signing with us depended upon the ambition shown by our board then it was a simple choice for him.

Bit of perspective needed
Figures suggest that in a game only 60 minutes are actually played, 20 outfield players so average of 3 minutes each, so we need someone to replace Wilf, who can play well for 3 minutes simples job done

I don't understand why the club are expected to say anything. They already confirmed that he had left the club when his contract expired?

This does feel like a punch in the gut though, for a generation of Palace fans, they've only ever really known Zaha at Palace. He is a true Palace legend and one of the best players I've seen in the shirt. Was hoping we would re-sign him and stick him up top, supported by a trio of Eze, Olise and Franca. Some serious recruitment work needs to be done now by the club.

Wish him all the best but I hope he is thick skinned enough for when he gets sent off or misses a penalty, the Turkish fans are not kind.

I dont think they did. A simple thank you on the website for started would be good.

I dont even think many of our current players have posted anything on thier social medias wishing him luck either.

In terms of replacements- I am sure Eze was bought a few years ago as the replacement.
