For the elderly especially, I'm not sure it would be safe or wise to 'wait and see' for almost three years during a global pandemic. The deaths are certainly racking up into the millions worldwide due to the virus itself, whereas the vaccine so far has provably saved a great many lives.

All medication has the potential to cause harm and possible side effects and this vaccine is in the medication bracket. Next time you buy a box of 50p paracetamol read the leaflet. Scary as hell but you will still take them.

I am not reassured, Wisbech. Don't you understand that's exactly what the conspiracy theorists WANT you to believe. It is just another conspiracy theory. Run a few checks for yourself and then decide who is more likely to be telling you the truth. For instance research that first claim of yours which has been comprehensively debunked as garbage. Like many conspiracy theories it has a connection to something which is true but then distorts it into something which isn't. The facts are all available. Just search and you will find them. Fact-checkers come in a multitude of different flavours, but they aren't managed or controlled by governments. The only thing that links them is a desire to counter the spread of misinformation which has skyrocketed in recent years.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

To be honest, mezzer , I haven't checked the figures recently, but throughout the pandemic those that failed to recover from covid were consistently much less than 1 % of all who tested positive regardless of age. Witty himself only recently reaffirmed that the majority of cases will only suffer mild flu symptoms.

If you’re talking about deaths other than clotting, which incidentally is far below the average expected per million in a non vaccinated group (therefore rendering the chicken little / media clickbait connection statistically meaningless) then please do share. And it always amuses me when conspiratoires push the angle that conventional fact based information en masse, without exception, is suppressive of the actual truth. Oh the irony
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |
