Completely agree on what you’ve said and your opinion too. Even if this extra £14 mil to Meyer is true which takes his pay up to £170k per week, it sounds as if it’s staggered, just like transfers are I suppose, but I’m not sure how much is considered wages tbh. All of it should be imo but I may be wrong. my understanding was he was on more like 70k a week basic wage. surely there is no way on earth we are paying meyer 170k a week, never in a month of sundays. my very simplistic view is new wages in vrs players left has wiped its own nose, so with that in mind weve spent 10m

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle For a lot of deals, the closer it gets to deadline hour the greater the chance of it happening, as both sides compromise a bit on the details to get over the line with something they both want to do in principle. With the Wilf to Chelsea or spurs thing though, the longer he stays the less likely the deal must be, simply because even if at the eleventh hour Chelsea sneak up to the price we've set, we won't have any time to buy suitable replacements with the money, thereby making it pointless to us. If it was going to happen it would have had to have been done by now, because even with 100m in cash upfront, we couldn't spend it now, couldn't replace the player and would be so much closer to relegation that the transfer fee wouldn't touch the sides of what it would cost us. The only exception would be if Chelsea offered us replacements as part of the deal. Twenty million plus batshuyi and rlc for instance, but even then the deal would turn on both incoming players agreeing terms and wanting to come, having had a huge life and career decision sprung on them at short notice. So it's cool. Relax.

Bolasie wasn’t bang average for us but he recently has been average. At times, Bolasie was a revelation for us, however, he never reached those heights playing for Everton and sadly he's looked well below par since returning from injury.

He actually looked good against Man City last year, I recall. Scored once; had another header just over bar; and generally gave Walker the runaround However, that was an outlier. He clearly has no future there and the fans were so against him, I guess they wouldn't care if he left for free if it got his high wages off the books. I'm assuming he hasn't looked at all good in training/pre-season if a new manager is getting rid Edited by pssguy (06 Aug 2018 1.21am)

Yeh , who Needs More matchday revenue and commercial income , let’s just stand still with 26k in a tired old stadium. And the fans will flock from everywhere to fill the seats to see ... Sully Kai Kai?

So it's cool. Relax. I would tempted to swap Wilf for Batshuayi, RLC and Hudson-Odoi (as in all 3), albeit with a heavy heart. I guess the fact Wilf played Saturday must show we aren't close to a trade with anyone though, so you're right about the expedited mental adjustments any incoming players must make.

Can't see that happening, trying to get 3 players all wanting to come and agreeing contracts in one deal is an extremely difficult undertaking in a short space of time. If wilf were to go it will be for straight cash

If wilf were to go it will be for straight cash I can't wait for the transfer window to close. I think we are in a chain like moving house. If William goes to the Manure Chelsea will bid for Zaha and we will bid for Antonio from the Spam. I don't want Zaha to go and we would be crazy if we do not have a replacement.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I don't think we need to worry. Prem Clubs won't pay 100m for Zaha, and that's how much we would currently try and sell him for. He is too expensive. If he had the chance to go to Real or Barca, I would be extremely happy for him. Much more than if he went to another prem team.
