Not sure that's likely, true or fair (someone else mentioned greed). Let's face it - there are a stack of strikers in from of him for the euros. It may display greater wisdom to move in the summer because January transfers are frequently desperate, I'll-considered events. Why wouldn't he wait until he's a free agent? Also if he goes now his club's financial demands will complicate any negotiation, remember they wanted £15m for a player with one year left on his contract!!?? And who is to say we won't be back in for him at the end of the season?

Read the UEFA links I provided you will see that's not the case. That would be a waste of time since the Premier League (and Championship) follow their own FFP rules and not UEFA's. He's had his injury problems this season but he has made 16 appearances (12 starts) and has scored 10 goals. He won't be coming to us in January.
