I didn’t know Benjamin Netanyahu is a member here! That explains a lot.

When you stop virtue signalling, perhaps you will be realistic about the situation.

Hamas are the ones reporting the numbers of dead. I would think it may be a slight exaggeration, you know the more they report the more the sympathy. Israel offered to take the babies in incubators to their hospitals and were refused. Now if little babies aren’t given a chance by a terror group then no one will be.

How on earth is being concerned about a desperate situation virtue signalling?

Your opinions beggar belief sometimes.

I don’t think you can trust either side in a situation like this. Only independently verified information can be.

I tell you what Wisbech. Pop out there and negotiate a peace deal.

Good luck.

You will need someone with better contacts in the region than me, working together with those able to twist the arms on both sides. It’s incredibly difficult and unlikely to succeed very soon, but only getting the hostilities put on hold would allow that slim chance to be explored.

That said I would have a bigger chance than you. You would throw fuel on the fire.

It is and there are such educated and intelligent voices in the Arab world who can play an important role both in building trust and convincing their own people that there is a better way than confrontation.

There are also such voices in Israel. Unfortunately none have any power of influence. Yet.

A truce/ceasefire in the 'offing'? . . . [Link]

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

It's hard to know what to say to you on this subject.

We all know what is going on down there and a truce to help the stricken might happen for a short time, but the reality is that the safest place for Gazans is just about anywhere other than Gaza and the quickest way for the bloodshed to end is for Hamas to surrender.
They won't, and Israel will continue the conflict until they are satisfied that they can claim a victory and make Israelis feel safe.

Truces can be extended and built on. Resolution has to start somewhere and that might be where. If not, then we go on trying. Israel feeling safe is an impossibility. Feeling safer isn’t. I don’t know what the solution is. I only know it cannot be found unless the bombing stops. Destroying Hamas won’t solve the Israeli problems. It just moves it to somewhere else.

You don't like facing reality. You demonstrate that regularly.

The only peace will come when one side is forced into it.
