Regardless of your opinions on immigration etc. I can't be the only one who feels a small sense of sadness at the prospect of a border between Ireland and the UK. Even if it only ends up being between the Republic and the rest. Call me a remoaning snowflake but I love that country. Edited by Mstrobez (04 Dec 2017 6.19pm) Neither the UK or Irish or Stormount control South Armagh so it would be impossible to have a border.

Can anyone remember the Irish border situation being discussed or being given a clue that this might happen in the run up to the referendum?

Crazy situation. So, Northern Ireland offered special terms on Brexit which the DUP oppose (which if May didn't need their votes wouldn't be an issue). Now Scotland will presumably want special terms but won't get them- because she doesn't need the SNP votes. Real Catch 22 at this point- rather worrying. If the PM hadn't stupidly lost her majority this wouldn't be an issue!

Maybe people should have thought of this before casting their vote in the referendum. Edit. They did, well in Northern Ireland anyway. Edited by nickgusset (04 Dec 2017 8.56pm)

Well we all know you can't trust Boris and people would have taken that with a pinch of salt anyway before casting their vote.
Juxtapose with this...
