Regardless of your opinions on immigration etc. I can't be the only one who feels a small sense of sadness at the prospect of a border between Ireland and the UK. Even if it only ends up being between the Republic and the rest.

Call me a remoaning snowflake but I love that country.

Neither the UK or Irish or Stormount control South Armagh so it would be impossible to have a border.

Well if that's the case, without a hard border in Ireland I have no idea what the arrangement can be that doesn't undermine the Brexit means Brexit brigade

Agreed. It certainly looks bad for you when Blair is calling you a liar with a straight face.

I couldn't give a s*** what Blair says.
He is working for his 'Illuminati' paymasters.

Can anyone remember the Irish border situation being discussed or being given a clue that this might happen in the run up to the referendum?

Crazy situation. So, Northern Ireland offered special terms on Brexit which the DUP oppose (which if May didn't need their votes wouldn't be an issue). Now Scotland will presumably want special terms but won't get them- because she doesn't need the SNP votes.

Real Catch 22 at this point- rather worrying. If the PM hadn't stupidly lost her majority this wouldn't be an issue!

Maybe people should have thought of this before casting their vote in the referendum.

Edit. They did, well in Northern Ireland anyway.

February 2016: "Boris Johnson has said he does not believe the Irish border would be affected if the UK left the European Union.
The mayor of London was in Northern Ireland on Monday just 48 hours after Prime Minister David Cameron's visit.

...However, ahead of June's EU referendum he has discussed why he thinks the UK would be better off outside the European Union.
He told the BBC a Brexit would leave arrangements on the Irish border "absolutely unchanged".

Well we all know you can't trust Boris and people would have taken that with a pinch of salt anyway before casting their vote.

Pretty good summary of where we are.
